On a Saturday night, the Conneaut Eagles traveled to Franklin as a prohibitive favorite. Two scores in quick succession after a turnover, made it 13-0 for the Eagles. Franklin finally answered late in the first with an 8-yard run. But, Conneaut responded just 13 seconds later, returning the ensuing kickoff 77 yards.
In the second quarter, Conneaut’s lead expanded, as they scored two touchdowns in the final minute. A 15 yard touchdown run followed quickly by a 21 yard touchdown run one play after taking the ball back defensively. The third quarter was all Conneaut. Three rushing touchdowns, of 19, 6, and 5 yard runs to go up 60-14. With the running clock expeditiously finishing the game, the homestanding Knights scored on a tipped pass and run, of 59-yards with 5:21 left in the game. Conneaut would secure the regular season victory, 60-21.
