Why do you play football?

I play football because it is the only sport that encourages hitting someone else without getting in trouble! Love contact sports! Also a great workout and great way to stay in shape. I feel that football can take me places as well. Whether it is College, Semi-Pro, or Pro. I believe that Football is a great outlet for me to use in my life.

Who is your favorite sports star and why?

My favorite sports star has to be Muhammad Ali. I believe that he is the most influential sports figure of all time. He has several great motivational quotes and speeches that will definitely light a fire in your heart!

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most?

I would have to say my favorite play of my short football career so far has to be against Downingtown East Sophomore year. I was playing linebacker in a 3-4 base defensive front. It was a simple halfback dive. I made a very nice fill and blew up the halfback in the hole for a 5-yard loss.

What game, college or pro, was your favorite game and why?

I’d have to say my favorite game of all time is definitely the 2014 National Championship! First National Championship in the 4 team playoff format. Ohio State vs Alabama. 1 vs 4. Ohio State came out with one of the best gameplans I have ever seen. Very entertaining game for Buckeye fans!

Who is your favorite sports team?

My favorite sports team is the Cleveland Browns! My family is originally from Cleveland and Youngstown, Ohio. I have been a die-hard my entire life. Been to several games! Still waiting to see my first super bowl, but I believe it will be sooner rather than later!

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

If I needed to watch one movie for the rest of my life…I would have to choose Friday night lights. Instant classic. Has a great moral story surrounding the endings. And will never age.

What cartoon character do you think your head coach most resembles?

This one is hard! I would definitely have to go with Lex Luthor!

If your mom and Dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually say?

The most common screams are “Come on Cars” and “Get em, Binder”. My last name gets more usage than my first! Binder, Binder, Binder….it’s non-stop.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like?

I would definitely say my biggest mentors are my parents. They’ve taught me everything I know. The good and the bad! They both are very hardworking and dedicated to their crafts. If that isn’t a good role model, then I don’t know what it is.

Name a sport you’d love to play but you can’t?

I wouldn’t say that there are any specific sports that I CANT play. There are definitely some that I wish I was better at. I would love to perfect a jump shot and become a stud basketball player.

Tell everyone something that would make them laugh out loud?

I am constantly told by my family and close friends that I have no neck after working out so much. I have definitely inherited the “meathead” image, but I promise you I am a mix of brains and brawn!

What is the most embarrassing moment in your sports career?

The most embarrassing moment in my sports career is definitely from my Sophomore year. I was playing middle linebacker against Coatesville. Aaron Young, a very talented running back (Now at Rutgers), took a handoff up the middle. I filled the hole and was face to face with the Rutgers commit. He made an awesome jump cut and I completely whiffed on my tackle. The play was all over his highlight reel.

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, why?

I would definitely say that my biggest fan is my grandmother. She passed away a couple of years ago, but I know she is still my biggest fan. She was also the one that would push me to be the best man and athlete.

When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go-to activity, and why?

My go-to activity during my downtime is definitely fishing, hiking, etc. Anything with nature and the outdoors. Pennsylvania is the perfect state for all-day nature adventures. Poconos, State College, Philadelphia, etc. All have great spots for outdoor activities.

What is your favorite football memory to date?

My favorite football memory to date is definitely from this past year. We brought home the first district championship to Bishop Shanahan High School in school history and made the first state playoff appearance in school history! A very historical year for my school in football, I am just happy that I could contribute and be apart of it

What is your favorite play to run?

My favorite play is definitely any type of free blitz! Love getting after the quarterback and making plays in the backfield!

What scares you the most?

My biggest fear is not having a season! COVID has already taken so much from us 2021 kids. Don’t let it take the only thing we love. We need this season for ourselves and for our school communities.

Music of choice…

My go to is definitely some sort of hip hop and R & B
