Why do you play football?

I have always wanted to play football since a young age and I’ve enjoyed it every single year. I love the thrill of catching a touchdown or getting a pick. Playing along side my teammates makes the game even more fun to play. Celebrating after a big win ties everything together.

What has been your best memory from football so far?

Last year against Haven because it was a huge win for us. No one thought we could beat them and we came out with the win. Individually for me I had two interceptions and a touchdown. It was a very hard fought game and I believe that’s when our team came together the most.

Who is your favorite pro athlete and why?

Davante Adams who plays for the Green Bay Packers. He is a wide receiver and I take a lot of inspiration from how he plays. He is always coming through making big plays and always catches what’s thrown at him. I aspire to be like him someday.

Is there any specific person you look up to and use as a role model?

I look up to my dad and my brother. They were very good football players and they always coach and push me to do everything I can to better myself. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Coming off a year with COVID struggles, what do you think this year will be like?

I think this a great year for us to really show everyone what Minersville is made of. I know every kid on the team and I know that we can do great things. We are building off a lot of chemistry from last year so I think we can really do a bunch a good things.

Favorite play to run?

My favorite play on offense is any play where I run a slant. I love to do a quick stutter off the line and get open very quickly. On defense my favorite play is cover 1. I like to watch the play unfold and read where the ball will go. This gives the ability to follow the quarterback’s eyes and make a play on the ball.

Favorite pre-game meal?

I do not eat pre-game meals but I do eat a snack such as a granola bar.

Favorite sports movie?

My favorite sports movie is The Benchwarmers. I have always loved that movie as a kid and I always will. It will always be my number 1.

Sport you’d love to play but can’t?

Hockey

Most embarrassing sports moment?

My first game against Williams Valley on the varsity football team as a freshman. My brother came from Connecticut to watch my first game and I went in for the opening kickoff and I was the safety man. The ball carrier came flying through all of our defenders and rushing toward me. I lowered my shoulder and hit him to make the touchdown saving tackle. He blew me over and I thought I broke my arm but I just pinched a nerve. I then sat out the entire game and my brother didn’t even get to see me play.

What are you looking forward to most this year?

I am looking forward to playing with my teammates and making big plays. I’m so anxious to just have us all out on the field giving it our all. I can’t wait to celebrate a big win with my teammates.
