Coach says: “Jah was a rock solid, team player as a junior who emerged as a playmaking linebacker for us as the season went on. His work ethic sets the bar for his teammates in the weight room and practice field. A high-academic kid, he will have opportunities at the next level. We will be counting on him to be a team leader that pushes his teammates as we take the next step as a program.
Let’s get to know Jah!
Why do you play football?
I play football because it teaches me incredible life skills, discipline, and enjoying being around a group of guys I get to call family.
It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?
I’m looking forward to playing Panther Valley this season, as well as make the playoffs and win a District Championship.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
My favorite sports star is probably Odell Beckham Jr or Eli Manning because I am a Giants fan and I grew up watching them both.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
Last season in week 10 against Nativity it was the 4th quarter and we were leading 21-18 with about 5 minutes left in the game. They drove the ball down the field and got within our 10 yard line, it was 4th and 5 and we sent a blitz and I sacked the quarterback to give us the ball back and chew the clock out and win the game. It was a huge moment and a huge win because that win gave us a playoff berth and was just all around a great moment.
What was last years season like for you?
Last years season was pretty different, it was my first year playing at Marian Catholic because I transferred from Panther Valley, and everything was new, seeing new faces and new coaches, but I was able to fit in right away and bought into what the coaches wanted. We had a great season last year as a team and are looking forward to building off of that this year.
What are your goals for this coming season?
My goals for this year are to win a district championship, have better stats than I did last season, build a better character with the guys on the team, and to see those guys succeed.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
Either Luke Stevenosky from Minersville, or Niko Carestia from Schuylkill Haven
