The Tri-Valley Dawgs dominated the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes with a final score of 37-0.

It was a complete scoring assault by the offense of Tri-Valley with several key players contributing.

Another fantastic night for football at Rotary Field as the visiting Tri-Valley Dawgs stormed the turf, looking to stay undefeated. The coin toss resulted in the Dawgs receiving the kickoff, and within the first fifteen seconds of the contest, they were on the board. Reece Huntzinger ran 75 yards for a touchdown, and the extra point was good by Chase Stephen. It wasn’t long until the Dawgs regained possession after the Hurricanes failed to get into scoring position. Tri-Valley wasn’t afraid to include some passing game. Quarterback Kole Miller made a connection with Layne Yoder, a 10-yard pass caught in the endzone. The extra point was no good. Jolten Flory intercepted a Hurricane pass to give them possession once again. No other scoring action occurred as the last four minutes of the quarter played out. Time expired with the Dawgs up, 13-0.

Tri-Valley’s energy stayed explosive and continued to add to their score. Flory caught a 33-yard touchdown pass, and Jake Tietsworth completed a two-point conversion attempt, making up for the missed extra point in the first quarter. The Hurricanes could not move the ball up the field, as the Dawgs’ defense swarmed them every play. Another strong touchdown pass was made by Tri-Valley quarterback Miller, a 31-yard throw right into the hands of Yoder. The extra point was laced. To close out a strong performance in the first half, the Dawgs’ D recorded a safety. The score at the half was 30-0 and the Dawgs seemed to have no plans of slowing down their intensity.

The second half included one scoring play, a Tri-Valley touchdown slammed in by Tyler Reho. This touchdown play was set up by an interception by Yoder. The extra point was good. The Dawgs’ defense continued their dominant performance, once again leaving the Hurricanes scoreless. The score was 37-0, as both teams entered the last quarter of play.

Tri-Valley’s Teitsworth intercepted yet another Hurricane throw as the last quarter of play continued. The fourth quarter did include a few strong runs from Goehring, Myers, and Carestia, leading the Hurricanes to the closest they had gotten to the endzone all game, but still no luck to get on the board. Stephen had a fumble recovery, sealing the game for the Dawgs. The final score of the matchup was 37-0, and Tri-Valley’s fourth victory of the season.

Jeffrey Sampson and his 4-0 Dawgs take on EEACS at Tri-Valley Football Stadium. Mike Farr and his 1-3 Hurricanes take on Palisades at Rotary Field.
