RUSHING

Michael McDaniel of Bethlehem Catholic rushed for 251 yards and 4 td’s in their win over Lehighton.  McDaniel also returned a fumble 73 yards for a 5th touchdown.  The 5 td’s ties the school record held by Brian Baker (1994), Tim Barlok (1997), Dave Wilson (1999) and Eddie Scipio (2000).  McDaniel now has 1,471 yards rushing, which places him in 6th place all-time at BECA.  He’s also scored 28 td’s this year, which places him in 3rd place behind Dave Wilson’s 37 (1999) and Eddie Scipio’s 31 (2000).  McDaniel’s 58 career td’s is good enough for 28th place all-time in the District.  He’s tied with Darren Mason of Liberty (1997-99) and Robbie Frey of Lehighton (2004-06).  Gerald Douglas of Stroudsburg finished his season last week and still leads the District with his 1,934 yards rushing.  Douglas ends his career as the Mountaineer’s all-time career rushing leader.  Douglas finished with 4,010 yards and 54 career td’s.    Easton had three 100 yard rushers last week in their win over Pleasant Valley.  Shane Simpson had 116 yards and scored 3 td’s, Dalvyn Reynolds had 101 yards and two td’s and Nysir Minney had an even 100 yards.  Simpson now has 36 td’s on the year and 80 for his career and also joins the “4,000 yard” club with his 4,041 yards.  The 80 td’s places him in 7th on the District all-time list.  Dylan Evans of Pen Argyl drops to 8th with his 79 td’s (2008-11).  Reynolds went over 1,000 yards and now 1,014.  That’s the second year in a row Easton had two players rush for over 1,000 yards each.  Simpson and Kyle Bambary achieved it last year.  Saquon Barkley of Whitehall finished the year with 1,851 yards rushing and scored a total of 29 td’s.  Both are Whitehall records along with his career totals of 3,642 yards and 61 td’s.  Nate Farber of Northern Lehigh had 29 carries for a school record 343 yards in a win over Western Wayne.  Former San Diego Charger, Maurice Schleicher held the previous record when he rushed for 300 yards vs Lehighton in 1954.  Mark Weinus of Pine Grove now has 1,352 yards rushing heading into their Eastern Conference championship game against Northern Lehigh.  Christian Gretzinger of Palisades finished the season with 1,064 yards rushing and a total of 15 td’s.  Harry Hall, a junior at Northwestern went over 3,000 yards rushing in his career and now has 3,105 yards and 34 td’s.  Wyatt Clements, a junior at Lehighton rushed for 101 yards and a td vs Bethlehem Catholic to finish the year with 1,174 yards rushing and 23 td’s.  The yardage was the 6th best at Lehighton and his 23 td’s ties Chris Green for 3rd place all-time at Lehighton for a single season.  Andrew Davidson of Emmaus rushed for 109 yards and scored both td’s for the Hornet’s in an Eastern Conference semifinal game win over Scranton.  Davidson now has 1,771 yards rushing and has scored 25 td’s this year.  Evan Culver of Saucon Valley rushed for 138 yards and a td in their win over Southern Lehigh.  Culver has now rushed for 1,558 yards and has scored 25 td’s this year.  John Rupinski of North Schuylkill had another solid day vs Palmerton when he rushed for 127 yards and 3 td’s.  Rupinski’s season totals are 1,579 yards rushing and 23 td’s.  Rupinski’s 23 td’s breaks the school record of 22, previously held by John Rosella who set the record in 1968 (46 years ago).  Matt Miller of Williams Valley rushed for 208 yards in their loss to Marian Catholic.  Miller finished the year with 1,719 yards and scored 17 td’s.  His 1,719 yards breaks the school record of 1,680 yards previously set by Cole Barnhardt in 2012 as a junior.

PASSING.
Tre Jordan of Pius X leads the District with 2,310 yards passing and 31 td passes.  Doug Erney of Liberty broke Dan Persa’s single season passing yardage record last week in their win over East Stroudsburg South.  Persa had 2,104 yards in 2006 while Erney now has 2,209 yards.  Devante Cross of Parkland now has 20 td passes on the year.  John Laub holds the school record with 22 that he set in 2007.  Sophomore Jake Cirillo of East Stroudsburg South finished the year with 1,220 yards.  His 2 year total is now at 2,336 yards passing and 26 td’s.  Bobby Grigas of North Schuylkill now has 1,426 yards and a school tying 24th td pass.  Bobby Moyer threw for a school record 2,473 yards and 24 td’s in 1999.  Grigas went over 3,000 yards passing in his career (3,091) and already owns the career td pass record with 38.  Moyer had 34 from 1997-99.  Travis Edmond of Southern Lehigh finished his career with school records of 5,281 yards and 55 td passes.  Edmond takes over sole possession of 17th place all-time in the District for passing yardage and 13th place all-time for career td passes.  Julian Spigner of Bethlehem Catholic now has 1,962 yards and 23 td passes on the year.  His yardage puts him in 6th place at the school, 26 yards behind Dan Kendra III.  Kendra had 1,988 yards in his senior year (1994).  With his 23 td passes this year, Spigner moves by Kendra, Joe Shunk (1985) and Alex Atiyeh (2004) into 2nd place all-time at BECA.  All 3 players each threw for 21 td’s in a season.   Adam Bednarik holds the school record with 27 td passes (2002).  Frank Dangello of Northwestern broke his own single season td pass record last week when he threw 2 in their win over Palisades.  Dangello now has 19 on the year and 48 for his career.
RECEIVING
Freddie Simmons of Bethlehem Catholic tied the school record with his 9 catches vs Lehighton.  Billy Krebs and Bryan Phelan had 9 catches in a game in 1996 and 2005 respectfully.  Freddie also kept “the streak” alive for the 11th week in a row with his 3 td catches.  Prediction is the streak stops this week.  Simmons now has 12 td receptions on the year and 22 on the year.  The 12 is one behind school record holder Frank Trovato’s 13 and his 22 career td’s breaks Trovato’s record of 20 set from 1998-00.  Simmons is also tied at BECA with Trovato for third place with 47 catches in a season.  Nate Stewart of Pius X leads the District with 64 catches and is in second place with his 908 yards and 15 td catches.  Jeff Yordy who’s season ended in week 10, stills leads the District with 1,045 receiving yards and 17 td catches.  Updated corrected stats for junior Tevin Murray of North Schuylkill has him at 33 catches for 697 yards and 13 td catches this year.  Cam Richardson of Northwestern now owns all single season and career receiving stats at the school.  Tyler Crum of Lehighton finished the year with 39 catches for 668 yards.  The 39 catches places him in third place behind Shane McElvoy (69 in 2007) and Jacen Nalesnik (47 in 2011) at the school.  Crum’s career totals are, 70 receptions for 1,015 yards.  Cody Miller of Williams Valley ends his career with 60 catches for 1,311 yards and 18 td catches.  Conner Sullivan of Whitehall ends his career with 86 catches for 1,141 yards and 7 td’s.  Kevin Cruz of Pleasant Valley finished his career with 60 catches for 957 yards and 10 td’s.
PAST AND PRESENT
Junior, Tyler Cann of Lehighton finished the season with 1,469 yards and 11 td’s.  The 1,469 yards places him in 3rd place all-time for a single season at Lehighton.  Cann moved ahead of two former Indians who held spots 3 through 5 that went on to successful College career’s.  Terry Woginrich passed for over 1,000 yards in his junior (1,239) and senior (1,094) years before starring at Kutztown.  Dave Warner threw for 1,257 yards in 1977 before starring at Syracuse.  Woginrich finished his high school career (1966-68) throwing for 2,269 yards and 19 td’s.  At Kutztown, he would throw for 2,147 yards and 17 td’s in his sophomore and junior years.  Warner threw for 2,467 yards and 34 td’s in his high school career and 2,593 yards and 10 td’s in his college career.  Warner is currently the co-offensive coordinator at Michigan State.
