RUSHING

Andrew Davidson and Kyle Boney of Emmaus both rushed for over 100 yards in their win over Nazareth.  Davidson rushed for 124 yards and 3 td’s while Boney  rushed for 191 yards and 2 td’s.  John Rupinski of North Schuylkill (4-0) rushed for 304 yards and 5 td’s in a win over Marian Catholic.  The 304 yards is an unofficial school record, while the 5 td’s ties the school record.  Ethan Motsney scored 5 td’s against Jim Thorpe in 2012.  Whitehall’s Saquon Barkley became the first District rusher to post two games with at least 200 yards rushing.  Barkley ran for 221 yards and scored 4 td’s in a win over Liberty.  Barkley is now Whitehall’s all-time career leader with 45 td’s and also leads the District with 13 touchdowns this year.  Joe Santos of Freedom has rushed for one td in games 1 and 3 and two td’s in games 2 and 4.  Teammate, qb Joe Young has rushed for 1 td in all 4 games.  Young, just a sophomore also had his first 200 yard passing game (221 yards).  Junior, Harry Hall of Northwestern went over 2,000 yards rushing in his career and now has 2,097.  QB Ryan Fink of Schuylkill Haven now ha 30 career td’s.  Teammate Will Casella scored once last week in a loss to Tamaqua in overtime and now has 61 career td’s.  Casella is tied with Dan Tavani (2000-03) of Notre Dame and Blake Bowman (2009-12) of Tri-Valley for 20th place all-time in the District.  Gerald Douglas of Stroudsburg and Michael McDaniel of Bethlehem Catholic both need one more touchdown to join the “40 td club”.  McDaniel rushed for 215 yards and scored 3 td’s in the win over East Stroudsburg South.  One of his carries went for a 99 yard td.  Pleasant Valley’s Austyn Borre needs two more to join the “40 td club”.

PASSING
Tevon Weber of Salisbury threw for 200 yards and 4 td’s in a win over Bangor.  The 4 td passes falls one short of the school record held by Brian Ernst.  Ernst set two Falcon records against Southern Lehigh when he threw for 406 yards and 5 td’s in 2007.  Junior, Doug Erney of Liberty went over 3,000 yards passing in his career in a loss to Whitehall.  Erney now has 3,114 career yards and 30 td passes.  Erney, currently leads the District with 900 yards.  Tre Jordan of Pius X threw for 389 yards and 5 td’s in a win over Philadelphia’s Conwell-Egan.  Jordan’s 389 yards yards falls well short of Cole Hildabrant’s school record 450 yards that he set in 2005 vs Mount Carmel.  AJ Long still holds the school record with the 6 td passes he threw against Calvary Christian in 2011.  Jordan leads the District with 15 td passes this year.  Julian Spigner of Bethlehem Catholic, Bobby Grigas of North Schuylkill and Chris Marks of Dieruff all went over 2,000 yards passing for their careers.  Devante Cross of Parkland threw 4 td passes in a win over Pocono Mountain West to tie the school record.  Ryan Brown (1995) and Marc Quilling (2006) both threw 4 td’s in a game.  Nazareth’s Justin Albert and Travis Stefanik both threw for over 100 yards in the loss to Emmaus.  Albert threw for 134 yards and a td while Stefanik threw for 108 yards and a td.  Zach Thatcher of Saucon Valley threw for 244 yards and 3 td’s in a win over Catasauqua.
RECEIVING
Freshman Jahan Dotson of Nazareth caught 15 passes for 180 yards and 2 td’s in the loss to Emmaus.  The 15 catches breaks Adam Bridgeforth’s school record of 12 and also ties Kevin Gulyas of Central Catholic for the District record.  Both Bridgeforth and Gulyas set their records in 2011.  Dotson’s 180 yards also broke Pius X Matt Camilletti’s District freshman record.  Camilletti had 167 yards against Berks Catholic in 2008.  Dotson leads the District with 29 catches.  Aaron Weller of Pius X caught a 97 yard td pass from Tre Jordan last week to set a new record at Pius.  Weller caught 4 passes for 213 yards and 2 td’s.  Teammate Nate Stewart caught 9 passes for 149 yards and 3 td’s.  That’s the 4th week in a row that a player has caught 3 td’s in a game.  Stewart leads the District with 7 td catches this year.  Cam Richardson of Northwestern caught 2 passes for 95 yards and a td to go over 1,000 yards for his career.  Richardson now has 1,086 yards which breaks the school record previously held by Larry Caamano.  Caamano had 1,073 yards from 1989-91.  Jarey Elder of Parkland caught 7 passes for 154 yards in the win over Pocono Mountain West.
Week 5 Trivia:
Week 4 Trivia: Palisades Christian Gretzinger needs 3 yards to break the school record for career rushing yards.  Name the player who holds the record.  Brian Hahn had 2,678 yards from 2002-05

Week 3 Trivia:  Name the three teams in District 11 that have never had consecutive years with a 1,000 yard rusher.  Allen (1972, 86, 93), North Schuylkill (1968, 75, 2008, 10, 12), Salisbury (1973, 82, 93, 99, 2001)
Week 1&2 Trivia:  Let’s try this again.  Which District 11 team had the most consecutive years with a 1,000 yard rusher? Northern Lehigh holds the record with 10 consecutive years (1996-2005).  It started with Mike Lilly and ended with Nick Hosford.  Bethlehem Catholic missed out on a streak of 14 years when sophomore Lee Brennan fell 18 yards short in 1993.  Brian Baker was injured early in the season and was lost for the year.  Brennan replaced him and finished the year with 982 yards.  QB Danny Kendra III had 696 yards.  Parkland was 2nd with 9 consecutive years (1995-03).  Current streaks that are still alive, are Schuylkill Haven with 8, Tri-Valley and Williams Valley with 6, Whitehall with 5, Stroudsburg with 4 and Pleasant Valley with 3.  Five of these teams has a player on the chart.
