Easton Holds Community Pep Rally for Thanksgiving Bash With Phillipsburg(NJ)
Easton Red Rovers (10-2) held a Pep Rally at Cottingham tonight to cheer on their football team who will face Phillipsburg Stateliners(12-1 NJ) tomorrow in the 117th Annual Thanksgiving Game. This is the oldest High School Rivalry in America. The band and cheerleaders walked from the high school to Cottingham Stadium. In years past, it was reversed. The band, Cheerleaders and the student section would walk from Cottingham to the high school where there would be a gigantic pile of wood ready to burn to celebrate the team. Unfortunately, due to a recent drought the Bonfire was cancelled. The students made floats for the parade as a way to bond together and support the team. They also had a laser light show. The kickoff is set for 10:35am at Fisher Field, home of the Lafayette Leopards. Enjoy the Gallery from tonight’s events.
