NAZARETH COMES STORMING BACK FOR A 42 to 41 WIN OVER BETHLEHEM CATHOLIC
Nazareth behind quarterback Sonny Sasso came storming back from a 41-17 3rd quarter deficit to win 42-21 over The Bethlehem Catholic Hawks. This game highlighted the week 4 action in the EPC.
Nazareth 42, Bethlehem Catholic 41
Nazareth down 41-17 in the mid 3rd quarter comes storming back behind the legs of Tyler Rohn (22-135-2)and the arm of Sonny Sasso. Nazareth has 182 points scored in 4 games this year. Sasso has 858 yards and 9 touchdowns in 4 games. (59-97, 858 yards and 9 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions) Sasso was 14-22, with 202 yards and 2 touchdowns with one pick. Nazareth goes to 3-1, Bethlehem Catholic falls to 1-3.
Easton 30, Allentown Central Catholic 7
Easton behind the running of Marcus Williams (63-592-10) routs Allentown Central Catholic. Williams with 19 carries, 169 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game. Easton wide receiver Juju Fears hauled in 4 passes for 11 yards and a touchdown. 2-yard run by Caiden Schaffer gave Central Catholic a 7-0 lead and then 31 unanswered points by the Red Rovers who go to 2-2 (1-2 division) on the year.
Emmaus 26, Whitehall 7
Emmaus dominated an undefeated Zephyr team and routed them 26-7. Whitehall was up 7-6 at the half, Then Emmaus shut them out the rest of the way. Emmaus Running back Tylik Jarvis ran for 117 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown to lead the team. Emmaus goes to 3-1 and Whitehall falls to 3-1.
Northampton 61, East Stroudsburg North 8
The Konkrete Kids had little trouble getting to 4-0, disposing of a talent-lacking East Stroudsburg North squad 61-8. Northampton scored 41 points in the first quarter, including three safeties. East Stroudsburg North is 0-4 and battles the Emmaus Green Hornets next.
Parkland 19, Bethlehem Freedom 15
Parkland’s field goal kicker Gryffin Mitstifer kicked two field goals from 40 and 42 yards and that was the difference in the outcome 19-15.
Pocono Mountain East 37, William Allen 34
The story of this game is the 34 points put up by William Allen who only had 34 all of last year.
Pocono Mountain West 44, Louis E. Dieruff 2
At Dieruff, the Huskies just had no answers for Pocono Mountain East.
Stroudsburg 23, Bethlehem Liberty 22
This was one of the best games of the day. It was just the second EPC North win over an EPC South team this season. The South has 115 wins and just 16 losses in 7 years. Junior Mountaineer running back Andre Reames scored 2 touchdowns in the game. Liberty’s offense has been turning the ball over way too much and that has to lead them to 2 of the 3 losses.
East Stroudsburg South 36, Pleasant Valley 14
Played on Saturday, East Stroudsburg South (3-1, 3-0) hands Pleasant Valley (2-1, 2-1) their first loss of the year.
