By Brian Ptashinski @BPtashinski on Twitter

What was to be the marquis match-up between undefeated Northwestern Lehigh and Wilson Area Saturday afternoon culminated the weekend of high school football in the Schuylkill/Colonial League. The game turned out to be a one-sided affair as quarterback Justin Holmes accounted for three rushing touchdowns from 38, 69 and 17 yards and a touchdown pass from 18 yards to Cade Christopher, who made a juggling catch in the end zone and a pair of five yard score from running back Dalton Clymer and a stingy Tiger defense who allowed Wilson one lone score in a 42-6 victory. Northwestern improved to 6-0 and Wilson dropped to 5-1 on the season.

Hollywood’s Bold Prediction Prognostications

In what should be the game of the year in the Schuylkill/Colonial League in week seven will pit undefeated 6-0 North Schuylkill Spartans travelling to Bethlehem Twp to face 5-0 Notre Dame Green Pond Friday night. The Spartans coming off a 56-42 win over Northern Lehigh, while Notre Dame’s game with Tamaqua was canceled due to Covid issues with the Crusaders football team. The last time these two schools got together was last November in the District XI playoffs won by North Schuylkill 49-35. Last time NDGP played was on September 29th a 49-21 win over Jim Thorpe.

Colin Quintano, quarterback for the Crusaders threw for a school record 501 yards and tied another record by tossing for 6 scores, he is averaging 320 yards a game and is the leading passer in the state. Tarif Muhammed has over 600 receiving yards on the season and running back Logan Castlelano picked up a touchdown in the win.

North Schuylkill is led by Jake Hall at quarterback and had over 200 yards passing against North Lehigh and running back Josh Chowansky picked up 220 yards and has 1.077 yards on the season,

Both teams are ranked in 3A classification in the latest PaFootballNews.com state rankings. I expect another shootout between these two taems, who normally would meet in the playoffs. which may happen as well, but I feel the Crusaders are better defensively this time around and will get the win 49-35.
