Record-Setting Night Closes Out First Half of the Regular Season.

The first half of the Colonial/Schuylkill League season ended on Monday night as the game with Jim Thorpe and Notre Dame Green Pond was pushed back from the original Friday night start. The game produced a record-setting performance by Notre Dame quarterback Colin Quintano completing 30 of 41 passing for school record 501 yards and a record-tying six touchdowns in his teams 49-21 win and keeping the Crusaders record unblemished on the season and in line for a showdown on October 8th with North Schuylkill.

Northwestern Lehigh(5-0) had a game with Bangor(3-2) on Friday in New Tripoli, as the Slaters only loss prior was a 35-27 decision to Blue Mountain on September 9th. But behind Tiger quarterback Justin Holmes 12/22 for 220 yards a touchdown and rushed for 95 yards and another score and his receiver Cade Chistopher’s 99 yards rushing and receiving and two touchdowns, Northwestern routed Bangor 53-24 to stay atop the standings and sets up a huge contest Saturday afternoon with undefeated Wilson Area.

HOLLYWOOD’S BOLD PREDICTION PROGNOSTICATIONS WEEK #6

Northwestern Lehigh(5-0) at Wilson Area(5-0) Saturday 2:30

Northwestern Lehigh ranked #6 in the state by PaFootballNews, com in the 4A classification led by QB Justin Holmes completing 30 of 58 passes for 642 yards and 8 touchdowns on the season, he can also use his legs to gain yards rushing for 553 yards on 76 tries and 11 touchdowns. His favorite target is Cade Christopher who has 298 yards on 15 receptions and 5 touchdowns not to mention carrying the ball 17 times for an additional 329 yards and 5 scores. RB Dalton Clymer has totaled 231 yards on the ground on 38 carries and two touchdowns while catching 3 pases for 40 yards and a score. Wilson has it’s share of explosive players again it starts with the quarterback Cayden Stem, who has thrown for over 1,000 yards on 49 of 69 passing and 16 touchdowns. WR Zack Gillen has been on the receiving end of those passes, hauling in 22 catches for 342 yards and 3 touchdowns. Damian Simpson is the workhouse in the backfield rushing for 405 yards on 47 carries and six scores. The pressure will be on the defense to to control these two potent offenses, as they are averaging over 40ppg. For Wilson, Zakai Hendricks, Jackson Millen and Gavin Naylor have combined for 110 tackles, with Hendicks leading the way with 40. On the Tigers side Blaine Snyder has 49 tackles, Drew Sable has 32 and 1.5 sacks. This game could come down to who has the ball last, I see Northwestern prevailing 42-35.
