CLASS 6A QUARTER-FINALS 6-4 #8 WILKES-BARRE AREA WOLFPACK at 9-1 EMMAUS GREEN HORNETS FRIDAY 7PM at EPSD STADIUM.

Wilkes-Barre Area rolled Wyoming Valley West 45-6. Emmaus got by rival Parkland 40-25. Wilkes-Barre Area is a relatively new program as Meyers, Coughlin and G.A.R were combined a couple of years ago. Several well-known players have come out of Wilkes-Barre Area, Raghib “The Rocket” Ismail and Qadry “The Missle” Ismail, from Meyers Greg Skrepenak played at G.A.R and Bruce Kozerski played at Coughlin, all played in the NFL. Freshman QB Jake Howe has thrown for 824 on 10 of 53 passing with 7 touchdowns and 6 picks. Junior Mekhi Nelson at RB is the leading rusher average 7.7 yards per carry and has 1,638 yards with 21 scores Howie Shiner has 106 carries and 660 yards and three scores. WBA does have a a few quality wins over playoff teams Berwick 35-21 Dallas 35-7. Losses to Crestwood 45-14, Hazleton 20-7 Del Val 35-24 and Scranton 25-22.

Emmaus is the number one seed for a reason, their only setback was to Nazareth 20-14 on Oct 14th. Senior QB Jake Fotta has tossed for 1,798 yards on 102 of 165 passing 19 touchdowns and just two picks. RB Tylik Jarvis is the teams leading rusher with 716 yards on 126 carries 7 scores. Dylan Darville, WR, has caught 50 passes for 953 yards and 11 touchdowns.

HOLLYWOOD’S THOUGHT: If Emmaus doesn’t take the Wolfpack for granted and can control the line of scrimmage and not allow Nelson to take over the game, the Hornets should move on to semifinals by 35.

6-4 #7 STROUDSBURG MOUNTIES at #2 10-0 NORTHAMPTON KONKRETE KIDS AL ERDOSY STADIUM FRIDAY 7PM.

Stroudsburg got beat by Pleasnt Valley 14-13 while Northampton routed rival Whitehall 42-7.

Northampton has won the last three meetings between these two schools including a 41-4 win earlier this season. The Konkrete Kids have two wins over EPC South teams this season, besides Whitehall they defeated Becahi 31-21. Antonino Russo has over 1,00 yards passing and completed 72-104 passing 13 scores and two picks. RB Caden Henritzy leads the team in rushing 1,097 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Stroudsburg lost to Liberty and Emmaus 14-12 and 51-14. Andre Reams has 846 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Mounties. QB Aiden Herman has just thrown for 562 yards and 6 scores and nine picks.

HOLLYWOOD SAYS: Northampton should roll into the semifinals next week by 32.

6-4 PARKLAND TROJANS at 9-1 NAZARETH BLUE EAGLES FRIDAY 7PM at ANDREW LEH STADIUM

Parkland lost their battle of Cedar Crest Blvd to Emmaus 40-25. Nazareth picked up a win over Easton 35-28.

Nazareth did manage to get a win on September 2nd 28-10 over the Trojans, but the teams have split the last four meetings with 4 points the widest margin of victory prior to this years game. Trojan QB Luke Spang even with missing a few games due to injury still has thrown for 1,397 yards and 12 touchdowns with four interceptions. Trey Tremba at RB was also injured earlier in the season has 786 yards and 13 scores Nekhi Bullock is the leading receiver with 327 yards 4 touchdowns.

Sonny Sasso leads the EPC in the quarterback play with almost 2,000 yards 131-199 21 touchdowns two picks. They have balance at the WR position with Mason Kuehner (903 yds) on 53 receptions 8 scores, Nolan Lobb (692 yds) 43 catches with 12 touchdowns.

Hollywood’s pick. Got to go with the hot hand of Sasso and company but close Nazareth by 8
