The Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes top the Green Wave of Nativity BVM with a final score of 34-7.

Aiden Myers dominated for Haven, scoring four touchdowns in the match-up.

It was another beautiful night at Rotary Field. The coin toss resulted in the Green Wave kicking off, and the Hurricanes got to work. Pushing the ball up the field, Haven got to the endzone. Aiden Myers muscled through for the touchdown. Reese Felty then laced the extra point. The Green Wave made efforts to tie the game, but quarterback Ben Kreitzer was targeted early. Aidan Clauser and Tayshaun Smith both sacked Kreitzer. The quarter closed with Haven up, 7-0.

The sack party continued with Haven’s Connor Goehring getting to Kreitzer. A few plays later, Logan Carl recovered a loose ball, giving possession back to the Hurricanes. Myers broke free for a 45-yard rushing touchdown. Felty completed the extra point. Noah Dolbin for the Green Wave put his team in position for a touchdown, with a 52-yard kickoff return. The Hurricanes came up with a huge stop on 4th down and took possession over once again. Myers broke free from multiple tackle attempts and took the ball 59 yards for another touchdown. The extra point was good. Before the half came to a close, Leyden Hertz recovered another loose ball for the Hurricanes, but time expired before the team could get downfield. The half closed with Haven taking a dominating lead, 21-0.

Nativity started the third quarter off with a strong kick return from Devon Smith. The Green Wave came out with more aggression, but with Adam Balulis making two major stops, Nativity had another unsuccessful possession. Niko Castillo then intercepted Kreitzer’s pass. The freshman has two interceptions so far this season.

The Hurricanes continued to pull away from the Green Wave in the fourth quarter. The play of the game came from the connection between quarterback Brayden Fasnacht and receiver Leyden Hertz. Hertz made an incredible catch over Michael Stank, completing a 55-yard catch and run. The extra point was no good. Nativity did find the endzone when Noah Dolbin ran the sideline for a touchdown. The extra point was good. Nativity then attempted to gain back possession with an onside kick, but Haven recovered. To finish off the game, Myers ran 58 yards from a handoff to the endzone for his fourth touchdown of the night. Felty finished the game 4 of 5 in extra points. The Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes celebrated as time expired with a decisive victory against the Green Wave of Nativity BVM. Mike Farr and the Hurricanes will face Williams Valley next week and Patrick Mason and the Green Wave will face Kutztown. Both games are away and will start at 7.
