The Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes reign victorious over the Williams Valley Vikings with a final score of 24-21. Niko Carestia had two touchdowns and two sacks for the Canes. The Vikings kept it close with scores from Evan Achenbach, Alex Achenbach, and Brady Shomper.

The Hurricanes knew they needed to get the first score of the game, and that was delivered by Carestia from 3 yards out. Schuylkill Haven kept the Vikings quiet for the first quarter of play, leading 7-0.

The second quarter is where the most action took place and where Williams Valley started to answer. The Vikings finished off their previous drive with Evan Achenbach scoring on a pass from quarterback Brady Shomper. Shomper then had a pick 6 on the defensive side of the ball, putting his Vikings up 13-7. The extra point was blocked by Aiden Myers. It seemed the Vikings had taken over after they recovered a loose ball, but it was immediately brought back into the possession of the Hurricanes. Carestia took this opportunity to score again, this time from 5 yards out. Carestia then showcased his aggression on defense with a sack. Grayson Fessler nailed a 20-yard field goal before time ran out to put the Hurricanes up 17-13 at the half.

Alex Achenbach had a long run to put his team in scoring position in the third quarter. He finished the drive with a 15-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was successful and the Vikings took the lead heading into the final quarter, 21-17.

With 3 minutes remaining in the game, the Hurricanes snuck quarterback Augustus Warke into the endzone. The extra point was good and Schuylkill Haven looked to hang on to the slim lead. Carestia sealed the game with a sack in the backfield and the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes defeated the Williams Valley Vikings, 24-21.

Coach Mike Farr and his Hurricanes will take on Tri Valley and Coach Stephen Sedesse and his Vikings will face off against Minersville.
