When Jim Thorpe head coach Mark Rosenberger called a few years ago and said “I got a kid we need to get on the radar” I knew right away who he was talking about. Back then Noah Rosahac was just a young pup. A large, fast, strong young pup. Fast forward a year later. On June 17 of last year he got his first D1 offer, from Lafayette. Then the recruiting trail seemed to cool. Teams seemed to wait, maybe they wanted to see his junior year film. Well, he must have impressed because following his junior campaign Syracuse, Columbia, JMU, Dartmouth, Temple, UPenn, Lehigh, UMass,  Villanova, Coastal Carolina and Virginia Tech all offered the 6-5, 270 pound offensive tackle.

Rosenberger said “I’m just very proud the young man. Back when he was in 8th grade we had a conversation and I told him what I think he could do, this is just a testament to how hard he works, how hard his family pushed him through adversity. He’ll be a positive role model for sure and I look forward to many trips to Syracuse to watch him play”!

Noah says the process “was a long one”.  He was also in contact with Penn State, Pitt and West Virginia among others, but ultimately he chose Syracuse because of the fit. We caught up with him last night after he let us know his intentions to commit to the Orange. Here’s what he had to say:

PFN: Why did you choose to commit to Syracuse so quickly?

I decided to verbally commit so early because I felt that it was the best fit for me and I also feel that I’m one of the top priorities in their recruiting class for 2024 as well.

PFN: Who was your biggest influence there, who recruited you?

I would say coach Farmer really recruited me a lot and did it very well, I felt that we had a great connection and I’m excited to see what my future holds to work with him.

PFN: What are they getting in player like you?

They’re getting a guy who’s willing to do anything he’s told. If they need me in a current position that I don’t play, I’ll learn that position and play it. I’m also going to be willing to do anything for the team.

PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?

It was a long process but it really picked up in late January with Syracuse being my first FBS and Power 5 offer. After that i picked up a dozen more offers including from Virginia Tech, JMU, and Coastal Carolina. I was also having conversations with Penn State, West Virginia, and Pitt.

PFN: What position were you recruited for?

I was getting recruited mainly for Offensive Tackle.

PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?

I’m leaning towards a Business Major, Sports Management preferably

PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?

They were a huge role in it, they were the ones taking me to all the visits and when I had questions or needed help with decisions they were there to help guide me along.

PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the program?

I think that the most exciting thing about Syracuse is that everyone underestimates how good they’re actually going to be. I love to be apart of a program that everyone is going to overlook and when the season comes around, we’ll surprise them.

PFN: What are you most looking forward to while playing for them?

I’m definitely most looking forward to playing in the JMA dome. I never played a football game inside before so I can’t wait to be able to get the feeling of that every home game now.

PFN: Tell everyone out there in the football world something they’d never know about you until you told them:

Well for high school football I get recognized more for my defensive play and I actually got all state for defensive tackle. So I think some people will be surprised to hear that I’m playing Power 5 football as an Offensive Tackle.

PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?

I would say probably my brothers because they both went through the same process as me not too long ago so when I have questions they can easily answer it and whenever I need help they’re there for me.

PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school teammates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?

This is the right place for me, I know it’s early to commit but for my situation it’s best for me to do it so early because I feel like I’m at home when I’m at Syracuse.
