The Palisades Pirates trampled on the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes with a final score of 49-14.

Pirates quarterback Kai Stiansen had 3 touchdowns in last night’s contest.

It was the first cold game of the season at Rotary Field, but the Palisades Pirates were red hot. The Hurricanes won the coin toss and chose to kick off. The Pirates got into scoring position on the return, and Steven Lilly charged into the end zone 5 yards for a quick touchdown. The extra point was good by Borgeson. The Hurricanes did respond right back with Connor Goehring running down the left side for a 58-yard touchdown. The extra point by Felty was good. The Pirates capitalized on a poor punt that landed on the Hurricane 18-yard line. Lilly pitched the ball off to his quarterback Stiansen for a 15-yard touchdown. The extra point was good once again. The first quarter closed with Palisades up, 21-7.

The second quarter opened up with a 25-yard field goal attempt by the Pirates, which was missed off of the pole by Bryce Guthier. The Hurricanes were able to make a tough punt recovery and gain back possession, but the Pirates’ defense made two major plays for losses on yards. The last scoring play of the half came from Stiansen, an 8-yard touchdown run. The extra point was made. Palisades took a commanding lead heading into the locker room, 28-7.

The second half of play was another dominant scoring rally by Palisades, starting with a 30-yard touchdown from John Haubert. The extra point was laced through. The Hurricanes were determined to reach double digits and Aiden Myers achieved that with a 62-yard run for a touchdown. Felty made the extra point. Pirates were unfazed by the recent Hurricane score as Lilly ran down the middle for a 36-yard touchdown. The extra point went through the uprights once again. The Pirates’ D then stripped the ball on the Hurricane return, leaving them in complete control of the ball game. The third quarter wrapped up with Palisades leading, 42-14

The Pirates sealed their strong win with one last touchdown, an 8-yard run by Wyatt Harrar, and another extra point. Palisades defeated the Hurricanes with a final score of 49-14, giving the Pirates their third win of the season.

Head coach Bobby Smith and his Pirate team will take on Panther Valley and Mike Farr and his Hurricane team will take on Catasauqua.
