Hellertown-

On Homecoming Night for the Panthers, they left little doubt about who the better team was right from the jump.  The Saucon Valley offense, led by the Rohn brothers found the end-zone early and often and did not punt the ball all evening.  The Panthers received the opening kick and quickly went to work.  After picking up a quick first down, Braden Rohn found Jack Robertson on a wide receiver screen who took it 40 yards to the house to quickly put the Panthers up  7-0 early in the game.

The Green Knights however had an answer for this quick score with one of their own.  The Pen Argyl offense went on a long and punishing 12 play opening drive of their own and capped it off with a 1 yard touchdown rush by Caiden Faust to tie the game a 7 with 2:16 left in the opening stanza.

The Saucon offense quickly answered back with a score of their own.  They picked up two quick first downs on the ground via the legs of Braden and Jared Rohn, then Braden found Jack Robertson deep down the middle of the field for a 39 yard touchdown. The extra point was missed wide which brought the score to 13-7 with 11:50 left in the half.

The Panther defense tightened up and forced a quick 3 and out for the Pen Argyl offense on their next possession.  Saucon kept the ball on the ground this drive with Jared Rohn, Shane Kerosetz, and Jack Robertson all toting the rock.  This 6 play drive was capped off by a 1 yard run by Jared Rohn and Jack Robertson successfully found the end-zone on the 2 point try to bring the score to 21-7 in favor of the Panthers with 7:31 left in the 1st half.

On their next possession, The Green Knights looked to have found something with Caiden  Faust finding early success on the ground, but the Saucon Valley defense tightened up and forced another Pen Argyl punt after picking up a lone first down.  The Panther offense went right back to work and this drive was all Jared Rohn as he toted the rock 3 times and after being brought down just short on a 30 yard scamper, plunged in to the end-zone on the very next play to push the lead to 28-7 in favor of the Panthers.  This touchdown concluded the scoring for the first half.

The 2nd half started with Pen Argyl receiving the kick, however on their first play from scrimmage they would cough up the ball and the Panther defense pounced on it to get the ball back in the hands of their offense.

Braden Rohn then immediately took advantage of the turnover and found the end-zone 2 plays later on a 49 yard touchdown run to put Saucon Valley up 35-7 with 10:56 left in the 3rd quarter.

The ensuing offensive series for the Green Knights would see their offense find life once again.  Caiden Faust ran the ball 5 times and Mason Soos 3 times as the Pen Argyl offense marched down the field and found the endzone on a 2 yard draw up the middle by Soos. The extra point try was blocked by the Panthers which brought the score to 35-13 in favor of the Panthers.

The following drive for the Panthers saw them keep the ball exclusively on the ground for 9 consecutive plays and take them in to the 4th quarter.  On the 10th play of the drive the Panthers finally put it in the air and Braden Rohn found seemingly his favorite target once again, Jack Robertson, for the 20 yard touchdown on 4th down in the back of the endzone to put the Panthers up 42-13 with 10:20 left in the game.

The next Pen Argyl offensive possession saw Soos distributing the ball all over through the air, but his 4th attempt of the drive tipped off the hands of one of his wideouts up in to the air and was picked off by Eli Miller of the Panthers, bringing the drive to an abrupt end.  The Panthers kept the ball on the ground this possession and a few plays later Andrew Gilbert found the end-zone on a 3 yard run up the middle to push the score to 49-13 in favor of Saucon Valley.

This concluded the scoring for the evening as the Panthers secured the decisive victory over the visiting Green Knights.  With the win, the Panthers improve to 7-1 and will welcome Southern Lehigh(7-1) next week who are fresh off a 47-0 win over Bangor this week.  With the loss, Pen Argyl drops to 3-5 on the season and will look to bounce back next week as they travel to Catasauqua (3-5) who fell to Northern Lehigh this week 27-3.
