Schuylkill-Colonial League Season Leaders(Individual and Team) as of Week-8 !!

As the season winds down, its no shock who leads the way in the Schuylkill-Colonial League. Matt Bodnar II, a Junior at Notre Dame-Green Pond has thrown for just under 3000 yards thus far, completing 180 of his 257 passes thrown, 30 of which were for touchdowns. Bodnar’s 70% completion rate leads the league as well. Well, in fact, Bodnar leads the league in basically every passing category. Following behind are Southern Lehigh’s Colton Sams and Blue Mountain’s Brady Strause.

Another not so much a surprise when it comes to leading the league is, are the Hurricanes of Schuylkill Haven, or as some of us locals know it as, The Little Town That Could. Schuylkill Haven’s Niko Caresitia, a Junior, has rushed for over 1800 yards, scoring 24 touchdowns in the process. Schuylkill Haven as a team, also leads the league rushing for over 3400 yards with their 3 running back attack. Following behind Caresitia are Northwestern Lehigh’s Eli Zimmerman and Palmerton’s Jameson Trainer.

One would think that with the way Bodnar has been throwing the ball, that a Crusader would be leading the way in the league but no no, we can’t forget about the Vikings of Williams Valley, who have been know to throw the ball around very well as well. Kian Krzyzanowski of Williams Valley has caught 45 passes for a league leading 808 yards, scoring 11 touchdowns. Kian cannot slow down as he is closely followed by Noah Dolbin of Nativity BVM and Carmin Diaz of ND-GP.

Defensively, it looks as if the Schuylkill League teams lead the way but that doesn’t say the Colonial League teams aren’t equal to say the least, these two leagues battle week in and week out. It’s always fun to calculate the totals at the end of the season to see which league was more dominant. This season seems much more balanced than in previous years. Leading the league in interceptions thus far is Shay Strencosky of Pottsville with 5 ints to his credit, he will be tested tonight at the Eagles Nest when he goes up against the Eagles of Blue Mountain. Brayden Crisswell of Williams Valley leads in sacks with 7. The Vikings take on the Blue Devils of Shenandoah Valley so we shall see if Crisswell can add to his league lead.

As far as the teams go, its Notre Dame-Green Pond, and Schuylkill Haven leading the way offensively with the Crusaders throwing for over 3000 yards, Haven running for over 3400 yards as shown in graphics below.
