Notre Dam Green Pond lineman Tyler Lissy has made his college choice, he’ll head to Dickinson College to play for the Red Devils. He made his announcement Sunday via twitter:

We caught up with Tyler and asked him about his choice

PFN: How long have you played football?

Tyler: Freshman year of high school

PFN: Why did you choose to commit to the Red Devils?

Tyler: I chose to commit to the Dickinson Red Devils as I thought both the academic and athletic program were a great fit for me, they were in great location for campus and the facilities are top notch.

PFN: Why commit early/commit to them?

Tyler: The reason I committed early was to take the stress out of the recruiting process, as well as getting focused for the senior year I have ahead of me.

PFN: Who was your biggest influence at Dickinson, who recruited you?

Tyler: My position coach at Dickinson was a huge influence for me as he showed what I could become at this school and how great of a fit it was for me.

PFN: What are they getting in player like you?

Tyler: They are getting a hard worker, someone who won’t quit, both on and off the field.

PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?

Tyler: It was a good experience, with times that were stressful, and times that were enjoyable, but overall my commitment has made the whole process worth it.

PFN: How did the Covid 19 pandemic affect your decision?

Tyler: It made the process quite challenging, due to the majority of the process being done online, as well as not getting a chance to see many of the campuses up until nearing the end of it.

PFN: What position were you recruited for?

Tyler: Offensive line, specifically Guard.

PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?

Tyler: I’m hoping to study business and get a certification in health studies as well.

PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?

Tyler: They guided me from both the academic and athletic side of things, and mentoring me in what decision might ultimately be the best fit for me.

PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the Dickenson program?

Tyler: The coaching staff is definitely something I’m really excited about, and after having great conversations with many of them, I see a bright future ahead of this program.

PFN: What are you most looking forward to while playing for the Red Devils?

Tyler: The opportunity to play college football in itself is very exciting, and the opportunity to compete for championships makes me that much more excited.

PFN: Tell everyone out there in the football world something they’d never know about you until you told them:

Tyler: I was a wide receiver before I began my life in the trenches, so it’s cool to see how much a team relies on the big guys up front, and being a part of that unit now puts it a lot more into perspective.

PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?

Tyler: Definitely my father, after hearing stories about his playing days, I had always known this sport would be a passion of mine.

PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school teammates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?

Tyler: That my decision was not just based off athletics, but in reality, academics was what I wanted the most from a college of my choice.
