What does your offense need to improve on from last year?
Last year was a rebuilding year and our team mantra was that you have to be a great teammate to play on this team. We listed the important qualities that a good teammate must possess and rid the team of any player or coach that did not live up to these qualities. We started the season with 16 young me who were great teammates. We took our lumps with a really young team led by Freshman QB Kyle Schumann who is extremely smart and a ferocious competitor. Standing by each other and playing together as a family got us better each week. We added more great teammates to our ranks as the season went on. By the end of the season, Kyle was playing like a junior and led our team to a 20-7 victory over Archbishop Ryan on Thanksgiving. Our first victory over AR in 10 years!

This offense returns locked and loaded and ready to go fast. As long as we are safe with the ball and do not beat ourselves will be very successful.
What does your defense need to improve on from last year
Last year our Defensive Coordinator quit after the second game. It took a couple of weeks to find a permanent replacement. I wasn’t until after we were out of the playoffs that we had time to install Coach Brasche’s full defensive scheme. Defense is knowing where your help is. Now they know. Our guys up front are fast and physical. On the back end, we have great leaders who are fast and know where their help is. They need to build on last year’s intensity and punish opposing offenses. With 11 returning starters and great leaders to look up to, I expect to see physical games each week next season.
