District 12 Week 4 Preview:

Games of the Week:

West Philadelphia @ Frankford Thursday 3pm: The Speedboys are currently 2-2 looking for another division win. They live and die with the running game. With a large offensive line that’s also experienced they are looking to take the next step. Frankford currently is on a 2-game skid and needs to find their offensive identity and execute their game plan. Speedboys have the size, experience and talent to win this game, but Frankford won’t lay down.

Imhotep @ Abraham Lincoln Friday 3pm: This will be the first game for Lincoln as a member of the top division. To welcome them to the top division the league gave them first crack at Tep. Lincoln has a formidable passing game but at times struggles in pass protection. Tep is built heavy and deep on their lines and will impose their will to make life difficult. Tep is favored and as the champs they have earned that distinction until someone knocks them off the throne in the Public League.

Conwell Egan @ Lansdale Catholic Friday 7pm: The Eagles look to build upon the momentum they’ve had in a key CL Blue Division matchup with the Crusaders. The Eagles offense stalled last week but defensively they played lights out. They’ll need another performance from their defense against Lansdale who spreads the ball around to multiple players.

La Salle @ St Frances Academy (MD) Friday 7pm: The Explorers scheduled a national powerhouse in St Frances who are an uncharacteristic 1—4 to begin the season. They’ve played nationally ranked teams and played most of them close in defeat. La Salle led by So. QB Gavin Sidwar looks to continue their ariel attack success against SFA as a final non-league tune-up before CL Red Division play begins next week.

Boys Latin @ Belmont Charter Friday 7pm: Boys Latin sits at 3-1 and utilizes a run-oriented offense to control the time of possession. Jr. RB Semaj Carmichael has been dominant on the season while Sr. OL Uwaimir Dorsey has been a pancake machine upfront paving the way. For Belmont being a smaller program, they sure do have heart and courage, they’ll be up for the challenge & should be competitive. Both schools are separated by just a couple of miles so it should be a spirited contest.

MLK @ Mastery Charter North Saturday 2pm: A newly formed neighborly rivalry where both schools are just a mile apart and they share the Germantown Supersite as their home field. For this contest Mastery is the designated home squad. MLK will rely on their vaunted rushing attack while the Pumas also are a run first team led by Jr. Amir Northern. With rain in the forecast look for a defensive struggle and the team who can protect the ball best should prevail
