The smallest man on the field set the tone  in a lopsided 30-8 Lincoln Rail-splitters victory of the Southern Rams . The game was a Philadelphia Public League 6A District 12 quarterfinal.  Defensive tackle Jaheim Hudgens who stands just 5’6 but bulks  to 180 lbs.  made Lincoln’s first two tackles behind the line of scrimmage and finished with a team high of 6 tackles.  In addition to the two at the start of the game Hudgens had two more for losses with one being a sack. The Rams who struggled all year offensively, officially ran  just 31 plays on the offensive side of the ball and the numbers weren’t pretty. Southern ran the ball 14 times for a grand total of just 15 yards . They passed 6-17-2 Int’s – 86 yds-TD .   This all adds up to just 101 yards of total offense.

To add fuel to the fire there were also two bad center snaps for minus 12 yards.  Meanwhile Lincoln rushed 39 for 213 yards spreading the pigskin around with 8 players doing the toting.  The leading rusher was Naseym Ferguson 7-39 including a 20 yard TD burst which put the Splitters on the board for the first time in the first quarter. They added two more scores in the second period . Daniel Gardee ran 10 yards for one and Jordan Gombs caught a 43 yard pass from QB Luis Nazario for the other .

On the evening Nazario heaved 3-7- 1 Int – 84 yds. Gardee threw just one pass which  was completed for 10 yards to Josiah Hartie. Gombs caught two balls  for 56 yards. Ferguson grabbed one for 28.  The half closed 22-0.  Lincoln ended their scoring on a third quarter 13 yard run  by Ed Dualo.  Southern’s only TD came in the fourth quarter when Fahtene Pailin connected with Jamire Evans on a 3 yard pass.  Evans caught 4 balls for 23 yards while Taurus Lewis snatched 2 for 63 yards.

Notes:  Lincoln’s Dwite Miles had 5 tackles and Leonard Brook had one for a loss. Ferguson and Jahaad Ward had interceptions for Lincoln. Ward also recovered a fumble and Gombs flopped on an untouched Lincoln kickoff .  The Rams Jamire Evans was the games leading tackler numbering 8 with 6 being of the solo variety.   Trailing Evans were , Marquan Blackson 7-5-1 TFL, Keshan Allen 7-5,  JJ Johnson 6- 5- 4 , Sharif Ali 5-4, Foday Keita 5-4-3- sack and Sadiq Abdul- Aziz 4-3-1.  Others with TFL’s included Jeremiah Young and Pailine.  Michael Fayemi had an interception for the Rams.
