Imhotep Charter Panthers
PIAA District 12 – Class AAAAA
League: Philadelphia Public League – Independence
Head Coach: Devon Johnson
Overview:
It’s not a secret. The Panthers may have the best defense in the state among all classes. They don’t do anything fancy, they just line up and come after you. Hard. Only two teams have scored more than 7 on them, Demath got to 10 and in their only loss La Salle scored 13.
Offensively Imhotep found their fourth gear after the La Salle loss and hasn’t scored less than 36 except in their rivalry game with Northeast. They’re big play ability is a danger to any team.
Tep is LOADED with D1 recruits with players committed to Temple, Army, Rutgers and Penn State. Several seniors have yet to commit including DE Enai White, Lineman Emir Stinette who can pretty much write there ticket anywhere and Terrance Adams.
How they got to Hershey:

Key players/Stats:
Quarterback Mikal Davis has really grown into the role in the second half of the season. He’s now thrown for 558 yards and 9 tds. He’s also rushed for 246 yards and 4 more scores.
Running back Tre Mcleod had a monster game against Cathedral Prep running for nearly 300 yards and three tds. That game sent his season total to 932 yards and 14 tds. He runs like a bull but he’s deceptively fast .
Running back Jabree Wallace Coleman has carried the ball for 417 yards and 6 trips to the endzone.
Defensive end Enai White and linebacker Keon Wylie have combined for 17 sacks and a whopping 30 tackles for loss. If Penn-Trafford doesn’t find a way to keep these two out of the backfield, along with Linebacker Maurice Beverly, who has 9 tfls, they’re in for a long night. Those three and Talik Burton have combined for 245 tackles this year.
Offensive keys to winning:
If Tep is going to win this game, they’ll need to protect Davis from that large Warrior line and the blitz package they send at you. The Panther line will have it’s work cut out for them. Opening those holes for Mcleod and Coleman will be key.
Defensive Keys to winning:
Stop the Yacamelli and Green show. It’s a tall task. They need to keep Yacamelli from getting into open space. He’s as fast as any defenders the Panthers have. They’ll also need to win the field position battle, but that’s a tough task as the Warriors have a kicker that can move the ball deep. Pressure on Clark is going to be key, but they’ll also need to contain the dual threat quarterback.
