Roxborough lights up the scoreboard with its first points posted to their new scoreboard that was provided by Brown’s Shoprite. The blue board with white LED lights was donated to honor the memory of Nicholas Elizalde, a junior varsity player who was killed during an ambush attack while a scrimmage among three teams was underway in September 2022. The team has also changed its name from the Indians to Wolves.
Roxborough was shutout by Overbrook in its first home game, 16-0, on August 30.
Roxborough lost to the Academy of at Palumbo, 32-8. Although Roxborough scored unfortunately the scoreboard wasn’t working that day.
Today, Roxborough finally posted points on the new scoreboard when Zahmaar Brown, #15, ran an interception back for a touchdown.
A short time later, Brown recovered a Vaux fumble and zipped into the endzone with his second TD of the game. Roxborough held on for a 38-0 win.Before the season started, Roxborough had planned to celebrate the second anniversary of Nicholas Elizalde’s death, and, as if preplanned, the first points and the celebration occurred on the same day.

It was an emotional experience for Roxborough defensive coach, Tyson Harrington, who also coached Nicholas Elizalde.
