St Joseph’s Prep Jett Harrison comes down with incredible catch in the Hawks 35-6 victory over Pittsburgh Central Catholic

MECHANICSBURG When you have been as successful as the St Joseph Prep Hawks have been you tend to know what helps you find success. Stellar offensive line play is the one constant for the Hawks during their latest dynasty. Saturday night was no difference behind the offensive line consisting of Sean Molley, Kahaul Stewart, Jake Namnun, Christian Leonard and Bleek Turner the Hawks pounded their way to 285 rushing yards and 433 total yards as they won their third consecutive PIAA 6A Championship easily dispatching Pittsburgh Central Catholic 35-6. It also marked the Hawks’s sixth title in seven seasons and ninth overall.

The beneficiary of the St Joseph’s Prep offensive line play on Saturday was RB Khyan Billups, who rushed 29 times for 228 yards and three touchdowns. Billups has stepped into the role of feature back for the Hawks since Ohio State commit Isaiah West went out with a season-ending injury.

“All throughout the off-season and in-season our coaches put the O-line in a good position to be the best,” Billiups said of his line.

When asked about his offensive line, Hawks Head Coach Tim Roken said, “Coach Sugden, Coach Clifton, and Coach Cignalia have done an unbelievable job of working those guys every single day and understanding that we are going to have to run the football to be able to win football games, especially at this time of the year. We were able to do that tonight, and it started with those guys.

Right from the start the Hawks set the tone. On the game’s first play, the line did their job opening the hole for Billiups and he did the rest going 80 yards untouched for the touchdown and the 7-0 lead just 14 seconds into the game.

On the Hawk’s third drive of the game, they extended their lead to 14-0 when Charlie Foulke connected with Jett Harrison for a 19-yard touchdown.

The Hawks extended their lead to 21-0 with another one-play drive with Billups going 45 yards for the touchdown with 1:23 left in the first quarter.

The lone blemish on the Hawks’s defensive effort came in the second quarter when Jy’Aire Walls powered his way in from a yard out, however the Hawks responded on the ensuing drive going 77 yards on 10 plays with Billups capping the drive with his 1-yard touchdown.

Will Vokolos added a 44-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to put the icing on the cake for the Hawks.
