LET’S GET TO KNOW JOEY

Why do you play football?

I decided to start playing football in 2014. After witnessing a State Championship run in 2013 by the Old Forge Blue Devils, I fell in love with the sport. The friendships you make throughout the years last forever.

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

Pregame Music

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

My favorite sports star is Mike Gesicki. He is my favorite because he plays tight end and wears number 88 like me. He is a leader, a winner, and plays with confidence. Also, he has fun playing the game.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

My favorite play was my touchdown reception in the district championship game. I was running a seam route and James Sobol hit me in stride for a touchdown to tie the game.

What was last years season like for you?

Last years season for me was very disappointing. It ended shorter than expected, but has pushed me this offseason to work harder.

What are your goals for this coming season?

My goals this upcoming season is to be a leader both on and off the field and take it one game at a time. We lost many seniors to graduation but I am hoping that I can lead by example and our team will improve each week. I want to carry on the tradition of hard-nosed Blue Devil football.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

Luke Janiszewski

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

Camden Yards

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

Yankees

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

My favorite game has to be 2016 Penn State against Ohio State. I was at this game and when Grant Haley returned the blocked field goal for a touchdown the feeling in the stadium was electric.

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

The Waterboy because it always give me and my friends a good laugh.

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

Go Devils!

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Throw a touchdown.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

Losing to Mountain View as the one seed in the district baseball playoffs.

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

My biggest fans besides my parents are my Uncle Ej and my Nana. They never miss a game and always support me.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

Playing with my friends on PlayStation.
