WORDS FROM THE HEAD COACH:

Made a huge impact in his sophomore season from his middle linebacker position. Despite missing five games due to injury, he was the heart and soul of our defense. Covers sideline to sideline with a great understanding of the position.

GETTING TO KNOW LELAND:

What is the best part of being a student-athlete at holy cross High School ?
Being able to grow in my faith and having a good relationship with all my teammates.

How long have you been playing football(any level) ?
I’ve been playing since Peewee and then took a break from 4-8.

Of all the road games you have played, which stadium had the best overall atmosphere, along with what made it so good ?
I would say Wyoming Valley West High School stadium, because I loved how big it was and playing under the lights.

If the game is on the line, do you want to be on offense or defense ? Explain:
Defense, because if it’s all or nothing, we need a stop and huge hit, it would be so climatic. An interception too would be like a dream.

As an athlete, what has been your biggest achievement ?
Breaking my school discus record.

What was the high point of the 2023 season ?
Our game vs Montrose where my defense was my best, having 12+ tackles and winning 7-6.

What are you going to miss the most from the class of 2024 ?
I’m going to miss the bond I had with the seniors. I love them to death and I don’t want to see them leave.

What are your goals for the 2024 season ?
My goal is to try to start getting collage attention.

Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
Ray Lewis, because I love how physical he was and I just think he was a great player.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
My favorite play has to be Vo-Tech’s running back breaking it outside on our sideline, I hit him hard and everyone’s reaction said it all.

Who is the best player(s) you have ever lined up against and what team did they play for ?
Jacob Lesher, because he’s fast and ran all over our defense.

What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game ?
Tennessee or Oregon

What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
Steelers, because I liked them since I was little.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
Auburn, when they returned the kick-six vs Oklahoma.

What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
The Waterboy because it’s so funny.

Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
Return with a game winning pick-six.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
Hockey

What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
Falling and missing a tackle.

When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
Hanging out with my girlfriend or playing Xbox.

Sheetz, because no matter when I go, I always run into people I know.

What is your favorite vacation destination ?
Outer-Banks, NC

Not being successful.

I love Chipotle or Panch.

Have you ever been to a professional sports game, which ones ?
I’ve been to one college game.

NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, NFL, Which league is the best and why ?
NCAAF because, I like how much they compete to get to the next level.

What is your favorite video game, on mobile and or console ?
Rainbow Six Siege.

Pepperoni

I usually drive a car where ever I go.

Graduating college.

Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ? Explain why:
California, because it’s nice there all year round.
