After a well fought loss to Southern Columbia, the Berwick Bulldawgs looked to rebound against Valley View. After a back and forth battle, in the end the Cougars pulled out a close one.
The second of two tough matchups out the gate for Berwick was against the District Champion Valley View Cougars. Coming into this game, Berwick had lost the last seven games against Valley View, after tonight the total rises to eight. Similar to week one, Berwick got off to a good start as they led 7-3 at half. They extended their lead with a Bo Sheptock Run to make it 14-3 Midway through the 3rd.

For the first time this season, Valley View showed flashes of the district winning team a year ago. Connor Hilling scored from six yards out and they tacked on the extra two point conversion to make it 14-11.

The 4th Quarter was all fireworks as Valley View’s passing game started to open up. Adam Howanitz started slicing up Berwick through the air. Late in the 4th with just a minute remaining, Valley View punched it in and took a 24-21 lead with 54 seconds remaining. Matthew Lonczynski and Berwick had just under a minute to get into field goal range. After a few pressured throws and a controversial spike on 3rd &15, it was time for a last ditch effort. Lonczynski fired to Spencer Kishbaugh but the pass was broken up and Valley View survived a thriller to pick up a win. Final Score Valley View 24 Berwick 21.
