After a heartbreaking loss to Wilkes-Barre, the Berwick Bulldogs came up on a potential bounce back against the winless Wyoming Valley West Spartans. The Bulldogs did just that and got back to .500 in a game that lived up the rivalry label that’s been put on this game for years.
Drey Wilk got the scoring started, per usual. He took a direct snap to the Endzone early in the first.

AJunior Quarterback Ethan Lear took a long QB keeper to set up a goal to go for Berwick. Lear found a gap in the Valley West defense and took it in himself for his first touchdown of his career.
For Wyoming Valley West, penalties really destroyed any chance they had in this game. The running game did not have success tonight. As a ripple effect, Valley West could not set up their passing game to their liking.
By halftime, Berwick put the mercy rule on Valley West as they led 35-0. Valley West was able to strike, but missed the kick making it 34-6. Bo Sheptock took a big play to the house in the 3rd, the score moved to 41-6.
The emotions boiling up in this Rivalry were finally let loose, a major fight broke out in the 3rd involving a plethora of players. Braylon Hawkins was ejected as a result of the brawl. Police did have to get involved to stop the fight. Props to the coaches for not letting it get really ugly and out of hand.
By the time the final buzzer sounded, Berwick won 41-13, extending their win streak against Wyoming Valley West to 5 in a row. Although they struggled, something to build on in the 2nd half for Valley West, as they outscored Berwick.
