After back-to-back wins, the Berwick Bulldogs had dug out of a 0-2 start to get to .500 at 2-2. Their goal this week, finally get a winning record, that did not come to fruition.
This is the 3rd meeting all time between Berwick and Wilkes-Barre, and for the first time in the short history Wilkes-Barre came out victorious. After a half of play, Berwick had the lead at 14-7. Wilkes-Barre, led by Mekhi Nelson, outscored Berwick 28-7 in the second half. It was the Drey Wilk and Mekhi Nelson show as they both carried load for their squads. Both Wilk and Nelson had at least three touchdowns.
Drey Wilk had the hat trick today scoring all three of Berwick’s Touchdowns. This one being the most eye popping as he beats two defenders and gets in for the score.

It was like polar opposites on the defensive side of the ball for Berwick from half one and half two. In the first half, Berwick was as advertised, sniffing out the run and playing the pass well. The 2nd half on the other hand, wasn’t as promising. Wilkes-Barre had their way to the tune of four touchdowns in the 2nd half. Berwick can not play this sloppy and poorly down the stretch if they want to hang with the big boys of this district.
Wilkes-Barre came out of the 2nd half locker room on a mission. Their entire team was hitting on all cylinders as they completely dominated the second half. Offense was explosive and the defense held their own to come out on top.
