District 2 2023 Week 4 In Review

Crestwood 17 Valley West 7

Comets quarterback Jaden Shedlock rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown and Colin Lazo recorded an interception on defense as Crestwood got their first win of the year with a home victory over Valley West. Spartans quarterback Lucas Zdancewicz scored the lone touchdown and Isaiah Cobb added 124 yards on the ground.

Tunkhannock 25 Carbondale 14

Tigers running back Logan Ross rushed for 301 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Joey Ross added a rushing touchdown as Tunkhannock defeated Carbondale to win their third straight victory. Chargers quarterback Mason Baron threw for 93 yards and a touchdown.

Wilkes-Barre Area 27 Hazleton Area 8

Wolf Pack running back Howie Shiner ran for 220 yards and a touchdown and Davon Underwood added 110 yards and a touchdown as Wilkes-Barre Area improved to 2-2 with a victory at Hazleton Area. Cougars quarterback Austin Wilson threw for 103 yards and a touchdown pass to Riley VanGilst.

Scranton Prep 34 Scranton 0

Cavaliers RB Liam Barrett rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown and Andrew Summa picked off two passes on defense as Scranton Prep defeated Scranton in a battle of unbeatens. Knights quarterback Billy Maloney threw for 59 yards and rushed for 26 yards.

Dunmore 20 Riverside 16

Thomas Bowen found Daniel Pigga from 17 yards out with 39 seconds left and Domenic DeSando added two rushing touchdowns as Dunmore took the victory over Riverside. Vikings quarterback Reese Gaughan threw a touchdown pass to Richie Kostoff from 27 yards out.

Berwick 21 Williamsport 7

Bulldogs running back Tyler Winter rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns and quarterback Ethan Lear threw for 112 yards as Berwick got their first win of the 2023 season with a win at Williamsport. Millionaires quarterback Caleb Williamson threw for 254 yards and a touchdown.

Mid Valley 41 Old Forge 14

Spartans quarterback Jordan Chmielewski threw two touchdown passes and rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns and Jakob Lesher rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown as Mid Valley took the victory. Blue Devils quarterback TJ DiMattia added a rushing touchdown.

Delaware Valley 41 Wallenpaupack 14

Warriors running back Ryder Machado rushed for 259 yards and three touchdowns. He also returned an interception 83 yards for a score as Delaware Valley got their first win of the season at home over Wallenpaupack. Buckhorns quarterback Drew Kiesendahl threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns.

Valley View 14 North Pocono 7

Cougars running back Camryn Higgins rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns and Nick Kucharski intercepted a pass on defense as Valley View stayed undefeated. Trojans running back Brady Lavery scored the lone touchdown.

Lackawanna Trail 39 Honesdale 13

Lions running backs Hunter Patterson and Lukas Gumble each had two rushing touchdown and Demetrius Douglas rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown as Lackawanna Trail stayed undefeated with a victory at home over Honesdale. Hornets quarterback Aiden Collins had two total touchdowns, one rushing, one passing.

Pittston Area 35 Hanover Area 6

Patriots quarterback Drew DeLucca threw for 123 yards and three touchdowns and Lucas LoPresto had a receiving touchdown and returned an interception for a score as Pittston Area won their second straight game with a victory at home over Hanover Area. Malachi Downey returned a fumble 80 yards for a score for the Hawkeyes.

Wyoming Area 35 Nanticoke 13

Warriors running back Aaron Crossley rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns and quarterback Anthony DeLucca threw for 101 yards and three touchdowns as Wyoming Area stayed undefeated with a home win over Nanticoke. Trojans running back Treston Allen ran for 76 yards and a touchdown.

Holy Cross 7 Montrose 6

Crusaders running back Aiden Wudarski rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown and Connor Farrell kicked the extra point to give Holy Cross a one point victory at Montrose. Meteors running back Jamir Robinson rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Dallas 56 West Scranton 20

Mountaineers Running back Dylan Geskey rushed for 120 yards and four touchdowns and Brady Zapoticky threw a touchdown pass and added a rushing touchdown as Dallas improved to 4-0 with a victory over West Scranton. Invaders quarterback Caiden Berardi threw for 146 yards and a touchdown.

Abington Heights 34 Western Wayne 14

Comets quarterback Nick Bradley threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns and wideout Kevin Schmidt had six catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns and also added a rushing touchdown as Abington Heights won their third straight game with a victory Saturday afternoon over Western Wayne. Wildcats quarterback Frankie Leyshon threw for 149 yards and a touchdown.

Lake-Lehman 43 Holy Redeemer 19

Black Knights running backs Jim Mitkowski and Gavin Shoemaker each rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown each and Hayden Evans threw two touchdown passes and had a rushing touchdown as Lake-Lehman got their first win of 2023 with a victory Saturday afternoon over Holy Redeemer. Royals quarterback Thomas Dugan threw two touchdowns and ran in for another. Wideout Kyaire McClean recorded three catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns.

Susquehanna 26 Lakeland 13

Sabers running back ran for 108 yards and a touchdown and Cooper Payne added 101 yards and a touchdown as Susquehanna improved to 3-1 with a victory over Lakeland. Chiefs quarterback Chris Chmiola threw for 100 yards and a touchdown. He also added 91 yards on the ground with a touchdown. Wideout Chase Rosenkranshad six catches for 100 yards and a touchdown.
