Let’s Get to Know a Little More about Steven:
Why do you play football ?
I play football because it is just like my escape from everything going on. No matter what is going on in life, I always have football to clear my mind and keep me focused. Ever since I started playing in 5th grade I’ve had a passion for football.
Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
My favorite sports star currently is TJ Watt for two reasons. The first is I’m a Steelers fan, so I just naturally like him, and the second reason is because as a defensive end, I love watching the way that he plays and how easy the game comes to him.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
My favorite play ever is when I had the game ending sack in Week 10 vs Scranton Prep last season.
What was last year’s season like for you ?
Last year’s season was a great experience for me, even though we came up short on our goal. We had a great group of guys on our team and we had such a good overall team bond. The atmosphere of every game and practice was great, and I enjoyed every second I spent with that team. I feel that I had a pretty good year, but I still have big goals for myself and am working to improve for the upcoming season.
Who is the best player you have ever lined up against ?
The best player I ever lined up against was probably Tyler Swartz. Even though I only ever went against him in practice, he helped me get better every day and helped me become the player I am today because of how he challenged me in practice.
What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game ?
It is not a specific stadium, but I would love to go to either an NFL playoff game or an NCAAF playoff game.
What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
My favorite pro sports team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. I have been a fan ever since I was 5 years old and I always look forward to watching them play.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
My favorite game I ever watched was when the Steelers played the Packers in 2017. It was the first ever Steelers game I went to, and they won on a last second field goal. It is a memory I will never forget, and my favorite game I have ever watched.
What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
A sports movie I could watch every day is Remember the Titans. It is my favorite movie of all time and I always enjoy watching it.
Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
As a lineman my entire life, it is my dream to score a rushing touchdown.
Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
I would love to play baseball because it was a sport I loved as a kid growing up, but I was just never really that good at it.
What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
My most embarrassing sports moment happened during our state playoff game vs Bishop Shanahan my sophomore year. In the second half, I had to play a position that I had never played before because the starter there got hurt, and I gave up a 60 yard play on one of the first plays out of the half.
When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
Often times when I am not practicing for football, I am either with my friends or playing video games. I enjoy being outside, so sometimes I play other sports for fun.
Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
Sheetz, because it is the one I have had the most and because I need to stay loyal to NEPA. So definitely Sheetz.
What is your favorite vacation destination ?
My favorite vacation destination I have ever visited is Riviera Maya, Mexico.
Favorite Band/Musician ?
I do not really have a favorite band or musician, I mostly enjoy all types of music.
NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, NFL, Which league is the best and why ?
The best league to me is the NFL because it is the one I spend the most time watching and learning about, but recently I have been getting more into NCAAF.
Best Video Game – Madden Console(XBox/Playstation/Sega/Atari/etc) and why ?
Playstation, because it is what I have played all my life.
Name one thing in life (NOT SPORTS RELATED) you would like to achieve:
I take my academics very seriously, so I would like to go to college to better my education and receive a degree.
Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ?Explain why:
I would like to live in the city, because I think it would be good to have everything I need within walking distance from where I live.
