The Trojan offense took a hit as they were without star running back Zach Fox. Nanticoke looked to several players to step up to fill his role. Junior RB Mykal Julian answered the call as he rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns. The Trojans defense only gave up four first downs as they defeated Lake-Lehman 32-0. Nanticoke Head Coach Ron Bruza on his offense tonight. “Alot of guys work hard. Can’t replace a Zach Fox but Mykal Julian and our fullbacks stepped up to carry the load. We had a great job with our offensive line up front. Our guys really responded.”

Nanticoke started the game with the ball. They went for it on a fourth and one but the Black Knights proceeded to go offsides and gave the Trojans a new set of downs. Facing a third and 3, Julian went for a 12 yard gain plus a Lake-Lehman penalty moved the ball to the Black Knight 19 yard line. Ashton Brozusky gained 14 yards on the next play to make it first and goal at the five yard line. After an offsides moved the ball to the two yard line, Julian went into the end zone from two yards out to make it 7-0 with 7:35 remaining in the first quarter.

Second play of the Black Knights drive, Gavin Wallace found Landon Schuckers for a 38 yard completion to the Nanticoke 22 yard line. Javon Borger carried the ball three straight times to give Lake-Lehman a first and goal at the Trojan 7 yard line. After a two yard gain on first and goal, Jaidyn Johnson sacked Wallace for a loss of 11. Wallace threw two straight incomplete passes on third and fourth down as Nanticoke took over on downs.

The Trojans were unable to capitalize on their next possession as they were forced to punt the ball away. Lake-Lehman ended up going three and out on their next possession. Nanticoke took over at their own 30. The Trojans faced a third and 4 and Brozusky went for a 37 yard gain to the Lake-Lehman 17 yard line. Facing a fourth and 3, senior quarterback Jaylin Collins ran for four yards for a first and goal at the five yard line. Next play, Julian scored from five yards out for his second touchdown of the game for a 13-0 lead with 6:54 left in the second quarter.

The Black Knights looked to answer and got the ball to midfield but were unable to move past midfield and punted the ball back to Nanticoke. The Trojans took over at their own 30. A five yard run by Brozusky and a facemask penalty moved the ball to midfield. Nanticoke drove the ball down all the way to the Lake-Lehman 12 but were unable to score as we head to halftime.

Lake-Lehman received the second half kickoff but the Black Knights fumbled and the Trojans recovered. Jaylin Collins scored on a one yard touchdown run as Nanticoke took a 19-0 with 7:07 left in the third quarter. After a Lake-Lehman punt, Collin added his second touchdown of the quarter as he scored from 17 yards out for a 26-0 lead with 2:32 remaining in the third quarter. The Trojans finished the scoring with a 20 yard touchdown run by Mykal Julian, his third touchdown of the game to make it 32-0 with 10:49 left in the game. Nanticoke cruised from there and preserved the shutout.

Mykal Julian on his performance against Lake-Lehman. “Feels good. Good to have the sunshine.” He also gave credit to his offensive line. “They’re all unbelievable. Ryan Wiaterowski is the best lineman I’ve ever seen.” Nanticoke snaps a three game losing streak and will play Pittston Area at home next week. Lake-Lehman plays Tunkhannock at home next week.
