ABOUT THE VIKINGS:
First year head coach, Steve Sedesse guided his Vikings players to the District XI Class 2A title last week when they took down a very good, but young Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes team 49 to 35 at Rotary Field in Schuylkill Haven and avenged their earlier season loss 24 to 21. This is just the second season in Class 2A for the Vikings and have now already added another District title to their trophy case where they have many more from Class 1A.

WHO TO WATCH:

Alex Achenbach(RB)-(sr) – 351 carries, 2867 yards, 32 touchdowns, 11-17-0=329 passing with 8 touchdowns
Brady Shomper(QB)-(so) – 23-52-3= 414 yards, 7 touchdowns, 57 carries, 207 yards, 5 touchdowns
Marcus Shoop(RB)-(sr) – 47 carries, 350 yards, 3 touchdowns
Kian Krzyzanowski(WR)-(jr) – 12 receptions, 389 yards, 9 touchdowns

Defensively, Skylor Green(jr) 95 total tackles, Brayden Crisswell(jr) 5 sacks, and Alex Achenbach’s 6 interceptions lead the defense for Williams Valley.

ABOUT THE BUCKS:
Dunmore comes into this game winners of their last 7 straight games as well. The Bucks defeated a solid Riverside team 13 to 7 to capture their 8th District title in the last 10 seasons. Dunmore returns to the state playoffs after a two-year absence. Last two times making the state tournament, they would be ousted by Bishop McDevitt. McDevitt is now up in classification.

WHO TO WATCH:

Daniel Pigga(WR/RB)-(sr) – 100 carries, 1265 yards, 10 touchdowns, 26 receptions, 442 yards, 6 touchdowns
Thomas Bowen(QB)-(sr) – 59-117-2= 965 yards, 11 touchdowns, 61 carries, 300 yards, 8 touchdowns
Jacob Hickey(FB)-(sr) – 89 carries, 508 yards, 4 touchdowns
Domenick DeSando(WR)-(sr) – 63 carries, 365 yards, 6 touchdowns, 12 receptions, 220 yards, 2 touchdowns

Defensively, Pigga and Desando are great at DB, while Nick DonVito(sr) in short coverage at LB gets a good amount of tackles. Their defense has been stepping up big right now, good quick pursuit and gang tackling. That’s why you may have seen it mentioned by one of our writers when he said how they were “tackled by a herd of Bucks”.
