Luke Kopetchny
WR
6-3, 185
Wyoming Area
Committed to Brown University
Luke Kopetchny started for Randy Spencer’s Warriors as a freshman and never stopped improving. While he saw limited time as a freshman, Kopetchny had a breakout year as a sophomore hauling in 43 passes for 846 yards and 10 tds. As a junior he pulled in 26 passes for 579 yards and 10 more touchdowns while receiving a lot more attention from defenses. In all to date he’s caught 72 passes for 1,450 yards. His size and speed give him that breakaway threat as a receiver.
Coach Spencer says “Luke is a premier multi sport athlete (Football, Basketball, and Track&Field), who excels as both an explosive wide receiver and a lockdown defensive back. He possesses elite ball skills and hands, along with great body awareness and tracking ability. A precise route runner with a high competitive catch rate, Luke is a threat to score from anywhere on the field. His work ethic, leadership, academic achievements(4.0 GPA), and his high level competitive character match his incredible athlete talent. Brown University is getting the highest quality student athlete and young man”.
Luke committed to Brown University and will play under Head Coach James Perry who has won four Ivy championships and has helped Brown’s offense lead the Ivy League in passing yards per game five times since he took over the Head Coaching position in 2019, something that likely played a part in the wide receivers decision.
We caught up with Luke to ask about his decision, what Brown is getting and a little bit more.
