Lampeter-Strasburg v Bonner-Prendie
PIAA Class 4A Title Game
Thursday, 7pm
PIAA District 3 – Class AAAA
League: Lancaster-Lebanon League – Section 4
Head Coach: Victor Ridenour
Overview: This is the first appearance in a title game for the Pioneers. Since coach Riednour took over the Pioneers have been perennial playoff contenders. His Pioneer teams have gone 42-8 over the last four seasons.
The weather will favor the run. With 11 degree real feel and 40 mph winds predicted, the team that can get the run going will have an advantage.
How they got to the Title Game:
The Pioneers are averaging over 38 points per contest while giving up 10. They had to battle Wyomissing twice and overcome a large deficit to Thomas Jefferson last week to get to the title game.

Key players/Stats:
Caileb Howse, QB: 101-169-1,582-17 tds also rushed for 1,250 yards and 20 tds
Dom Brown, RB: 1,484 yards on 146 carries with 22 tds
Danny Wiechler, RB/Slot: 500 yards receiving with 7 td
Emory Fluhr, TE: 339 yards receiving with 4 td
Offensive keys to winning:
As Howse goes, so go the Pioneers. Howse is a magician of sorts and make no mistake, his second half plays against TJ were the key to their win. If he’s on, that will open things up for Brown. Fluhr is a great blocking tight end. Look for Ridenour to use that to their advantage.
Defensive Keys to winning:
Position defense is key. With the athleticism the Friars bring Lampeter will have to avoid letting their opponent get to the second level. Fluhr is a tackling machine from his middle linebacker spot. Howse has six interceptions on defense. He’ll be a key component to stop the Friar passing attack, that is if the winds don’t do that first.
