Dominic Grove is a three-year varsity starter as the Mike Linebacker at Central York High School. Last fall he was named 1st Team 6-A All-State Linebacker. Dominic was amongst the top tacklers in the state with 147 Total Tackles. He has excellent instincts and is able to read offensive schemes very quickly.

What is the hardest part of playing Middle linebacker?

The hardest part is knowing what keys to read and being the leader of the defense.

What is the toughest part of a Central York practice?

The intensity of our practices is non-stop. We always give 100%.

2022 would see you guys go 10-2, including a playoff loss to a really good Harrisburg team. What will the 2023 team have to do to equal or better the record from last season?

We will have to start the year strong and build confidence going into the tougher playoff games. We can’t let up.

Is there a college or pro player you model your game after?

I model myself after my former teammate, Carter Glassmyer.

Who is the one teammate that you lean on if you need help as far as football goes?

I lean on Juelz Goff and Kyle Groman.

Who is the best player you have ever gone up against, along with the team he played for?

The best player I’ve played against was Jaheim White from York High and now WVU.

As far as the road games you have played, which stadium has had the best atmosphere?

It’s between Hempfield and Cumberland Valley.

What has been your most embarrassing moment as an athlete?

When I get my ankles broken.

What did you learn about yourself during the 2022 season that you can use to be a better player this season?

I think maintaining intensity and helping my team keep that intensity throughout the entire game every game.

If you could play a game in any college or pro stadium, where would it be?

The atmosphere in Beaver Stadium is awesome- so probably there.

How long have you played football, along with the reasons you continue to play?

I have played football for 9 years. I continue to play football because I love brotherhood, my teammates are my friends.

What toppings and crust make your favorite pizza?

Bacon, pepperoni, and sausage on a cheesy crust pizza.

What scares you?

Not knowing what comes next.

What is the best and worst genre of music?

For me personally, the worst genre is heavy metal & The best genre is r & b.

Can you share with the readers how your recruitment has gone?

I’ve been contacted by coaches from NCAA Division I, II, and III and am excited about all the possible opportunities to continue to play and be a student-athlete at the next level.
