Coach Heiser: “Preston just completed his freshman year. We brought him up to complete the running backs. Heis explosive and has speed. We look forward to seeing what he can dothis year as sophomore”.

LET’S GET TO KNOW PRESTON

Why do you play football?

I play football because not only does it run through my family, but I also want to show my family just because i’m the youngest, doesn’t mean i’m not the best to ever do it. So I will continue to open eyes with my football ability, but I will take it day by day and not rush anything. Also, I want to mention my sister who took her life when I was younger and before I started blowing up in football so I play with a fire in my heart knowing that she’s missing out on something special when watching me play and knowing that no matter who is cheering for me, it’s not her.

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

My team chemistry is what i’m looking to the most because when we get it clicking, it’s dangerous and fun to be around.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Saquon Barkley is my favorite sports star because he’s everything you need to know in a Running back. Someone who can do all things on and off the field whether it’s in the weight room or just being a leader for his people. He’s not only a great running back in the back field, but he can also give you some good route running as well. He’s versatile and you wouldn’t want to see him open field as a safety or in the whole as a linebacker.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

Left Zebra North. This play just lets me put my full field vision and skills on full display. the hole could be anywhere and i would have to see it in within a split second or it’s gone and i like doing that. i trust myself to find the hole everytime and that play allows me to do so. whether i may need to bounce back or just go straight up the middle. it gives me a good feeling when i hear that play.

What was last years season like for you?

My last season started off a little shaky. i was a freshman coming up playing with the big guys and i didn’t know what to expect. But as soon as i got my first scrimmage of high school football, it was up from there. i believed in myself that i put the work in to not be nervous or afraid and i looked at every friday night to go out there and show people a look of what the class of 2026 has to offer. every minute i was in the field i looked at it as an opportunity to show people who Preston Burnett really is. Even the ones saying that i’m too small and only good in youth football because everyone was smaller than me. I love when people doubt me, it gives me a motivation boost and a reason to give it everything i got on the field.

What are your goals for this coming season?

1.2k rushing yards 500 receiving yards Division title (again) Win our first playoff in years (and then keep going) Running Back first team

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

Offensive End from Township.

New York Giants game to watch Saquon Barkley play a game

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

Pittsburgh Steelers are my favorite football team Golden State Warriors for Basketball

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

When i watched the Ravens Vs Chiefs game when i was younger because that’s another reason football made a spark in me. to play in front of the big crowd and to play with and against professional people.

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

Remember The Titians because the movie goes to show when you’re sleeping, someone’s out there getting better than you and out working you.

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

“that’s my sonnnnn” “There you go Boy”

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Have a ring ceremony and get me my ring.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

Saquon Barkley because in my eyes he’s the best at that position and a great symbol of “never give up no matter the circumstance”

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

Rugby becuase it’s a perfect practice to be physical for football.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

My first ever time playing kick off on high school I got shaken my the person who received the ball and then i got pancakes when trying to go for him again.

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

My siblings because they’ve seen me grow up in football since the first day i put pads on so they’re watching me grow.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
