Why do you play football?
I play football because I love the game. I love the grind it takes to be successful and I love the life skills that you learn. Things like leadership, hard work, and toughness are used in football and in life. I also play because of the bond it helps you build with your teammates and coaches.
It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?
On game day I look forward to actually playing the most. I’m so excited to just get out on the field and play the game I love.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
My favorite sports star is Michael Jordan because of his greatness. He achieved success in life because of his intensity, hardwork, approach, and love for the game which led him to be crowned as the greatest basketball player of all time. My name is Jordan because of him.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
It’s hard to pick just one; I’d say I have two. The first play was at York High when I caught a slant, made a few moves, broke a few tackles, and took it 59 yards to the end zone. I remember being so hyped but also so gassed on the sidelines right after. The second was at home against Dallastown. On the first play from scrimmage, I intercepted a flat route and took it back to the end zone for a pick-six. We went on to win that game 35-7.
What was last years season like for you?
Last season was such a special experience for me. The team had a great season as we finished 8-4 and made it to the second round of districts, and I had a great time. It was the most fun I’ve had playing football and it was so exciting to be able to accomplish so much with that special team.
What are your goals for this coming season?
My goals for the upcoming season are to have a great time and add to the banner in the gym. I think the team we have is really special and we are in a good position to do a lot of damage in both the county and the district.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
Probably Saxton Suchanic, he was a good athlete and was a tough matchup.
When the game is on the line, which college/professional coach would you like to call in the play?
Definitely Bill Belichick. I mean he won 6 Super Bowls as a head coach and 2 as a defensive coordinator so he knows what to do when it matters.
What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
I would love to go Allegiant Stadium for a game. It’s got all of the cool, new facilities and it has the Al Davis torch as well as the huge side window that can be opened.
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
My favorite Pro team is the Las Vegas Raiders.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
My favorite game I watched was the home opener of the Raider’s second season in Vegas, (their first season with fans at the new stadium due to Covid the year before) It was a Monday night and my parents were actually at the game and I was watching it on tv. It went into overtime and I remember Derek Carr dropping back and throwing a lob off of his back foot to Zay Jones who caught it and walked into the end zone for a walk off touchdown to end the first game with fans in Allegiant stadium.
What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
I would pick Space Jam because of Michael Jordan and the comedic aspect of the movie. It was so exaggerated that it was funny and I watched the movie all of the time as a kid.
If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?
I think my parents are usually pretty quiet, but I know my Dad would yell something along the lines of “Yeah Buddy!” and my mom is probably telling me to run fast.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
I would love to return the opening kickoff for a touchdown and the celebrate with my team.
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
I want to be like my Dad. He has helped me so much and has pushed me to always be my best both on and off of the field. He is an exceptional person and I’d love to be like him.
Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
I would love to play hockey but I can’t because I have never ice-skated before.
What is your most embarrassing sports moment?
My most embarrassing sports moment was my first varsity touch my sophomore year during the first game of the year. I caught a quick hitch from the slot, turned to make a move and got hit and lost the ball. They jumped on the fumble and I remember being so embarrassed because I felt like I had just lost all trust my coaches had in me, but the never gave up on me and that’s why I am where I am today.
If you could only drive one car for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I would choose some type of Ferrari because they look cool.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
I love to hunt, fish, and hangout with my friends and family in my free time. I find the outdoors relaxing and I enjoy spending time and relaxing with my friends and family.
What is your favorite football memory to date?
My favorite football memory was playing for the first time under the lights and seeing all the people in the stands.
What is your favorite play to run?
My favorite play to run is probably a slant or post where I can hopefully get the ball and make a move to score.
What is the most food you ever ate in one sitting?
I ate a whole pizza once at a friend’s house.
What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?
I don’t really go out to eat often but I like going to Taco Bell post game with my teammates.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
I enjoy going to the beach with my family.
