Why do you play football?

I play football because it allows me to fully express myself in my work and in how I approach the game. I’m able to partake in family tradition as well as be a part of something that I’m proud of that I will be able to tell my children in the future.

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

I’m looking forward to celebrating with my teammates- after a good play by either them or myself, after a touchdown or an important stop, or after winning the game- as well as singing the alma mater with my teammates, the cheerleaders, and the band after the games.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

I really like Mean Joe Greene, he was my favorite when I was younger and I love how he played the game and the attitude he brought to the field.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

My favorite play was from the latest season. It was the state quarter finals; we were down 8 with about 1:30 left in the game. We managed to score as well as get the onside kick. Then our leading receiver gets knocked out. We rally together and are on the 2-yard line with only a few seconds left in the game. We call a quarterback dive right behind me and we get it. My team goes crazy. We won the game. It was the single greatest comeback that I’ve ever had the chance to be a part of.

What was last years season like for you?

Last year’s season was one that changed my life in more ways than I recognize. I transferred in July and knew that nothing would be given to me. I displayed to the coaches what I can do and earned my spot. Outside of the games themselves I met many of my current best friends. This season made me realize the beauty of the sport, how it’s more than the touchdowns and wins, it’s about your connections and the culture that your team plays with.

What are your goals for this coming season?

My goals are to get first team all-conference as well as to put forth effort that college coaches are forced to acknowledge. I strive to become a captain of my team this year and to lead with example on how to approach the sport both physically and mentally.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

Yendor Mack, going to West Virginia, played nose guard for Susquahanna Township

When the game is on the line, which college/professional coach would you like to call in the play?

Mike McCarthy

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

I’d love to visit Cumberland Valley because if we’re there, that means we’re in the state finals game.

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

The Pittsburgh Steelers

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

My favorite game to watch isn’t my own, it’s not college, and it’s not pro. My favorite game to watch is the 1996 State Semi-Finals game: Mt. Carmel Area High School vs Bishop McDevitt High School. I watch the highlights before every single one of my games. My dad’s side of the family is from Mt. Carmel and my Uncle Joey played in this game. It’s not only that it was my uncle paying, but it was who he was playing, Bishop McDevitt, the school I went to my freshman year of high school. I have a certain dislike for McDevitt and watching this game where my own family defeated them really gets me going before my games.

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

Remember the Titans, I love how they play the game of football and the bonds that are formed through the collective suffering of camp. The brothership is something that I hope my team can replicate at some point.

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

They usually tell me to either block or that I did a good job, My dad often times has a few words with the refs and their call of course.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Score a touchdown

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

My dad, he’s been my greatest supporter and the man who pushes me the hardest ever since I started doing sports. If I could be just like him then I would consider my life a success. he handles situations better than I could ever imagine and he has an attribute of care that I hope to have when I’m older.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

Basketball, I cannot shoot at all.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

My 8th grade year in the championship game I got completely pancaked on defense by a double team.

If you could only drive one car for the rest of your life, what would it be?

It would be a Camero, it’s always been my dream car for no reason at all.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

I’m typically either doing schoolwork or doing something fun with my friends when I get the chance. My grades are important to me so doing them to my best ability is a must for me. The free time I do have I use to see my friends and do fun little things like going to the movies, minigolf, or eating somewhere.

What is your favorite football memory to date?

My favorite football memory to date is pancaking one of my teammates on the last play at practice one time. I was the only person to do it all year, practice or game, and it was a pass play as well.

What is your favorite play to run?

My favorite play to run is definitely one where the center pulls. I think pulling is one of the most fun things to do and I love it when I get the opportunity to get a running start and lay someone out.

What scares you the most?

When it comes to fears, I would say heights, but in reality, it is not becoming the best version of myself due to conscious decisions.

Music of choice:

Either 80s rock or white girl music

What is the most food you ever ate in one sitting?

I once ate 13 blue crabs at an all-you-can-eat restaurant at the beach before they stopped serving me.

What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?

I really like going to KPot Korean Barbeque and Hot Pot.

What is your favorite vacation destination?

My favorite vacation destination is Fenwick Island, Delaware.

Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?

I saw a Steelers game against the Bengals when I was younger with my dad and grandpa.
