(Camp Hill, PA) Sometimes things take on a life of their own. In the case of the Cedar Cliff Colts, it was the first round frustration the team has had in the District Three playoffs. Following another outstanding season (8-2) it was all anyone at the school and in the media was talking about going into Friday nights matchup with Exeter Twp. Ironically the last win for the Colts in the playoffs was back in 2011 when Cedar Cliff beat Friday Nights foe the same Exeter Twp. Eagles. And history did in fact repeat itself. In a dominating performance Cedar Cliff dispatched Exeter Twp. 50-6 in a PIAA District Three first round game.
QB Chris Dare managed the Cedar Cliff offence effectively in dreadful weather conditions. Dare was on target in the passing game and had two TD tosses. The Colts running attack that was held in check in the first half, burst open in the second half on the efforts of Jaheim Morris and his three TD’s. Cedar Cliff’s Defense proved to be the undoing of the Exeter offense all night long.
“We felt a lot of pressure” said Colts Quarterback Chris Dare ” especially when we knew the rain was coming, we might have trouble handing the ball, but we ended up protecting the ball very well and it came out great.” Colts Head Coach Colin Gillen really praised his team following the win “our kids continually throughout the season have gotten better, we are a very balanced team.. I am very pleased for the kids because they deserve this.. they worked their tails off.”
Most of the first quarter was a Defensive struggle. Both teams played things close to the vest. Then late in the quarter the poor weather conditions contributed to an Exeter turnover deep in their own end. Jaheim Morris got the ball across the line for Cedar Cliff shortly thereafter and it was 7-0 Colts. That’s how the first quarter ended 7-0 Colts.

The Cedar Cliff passing game was effective despite the heavy rain. Dare moved the ball down the field via the pass to set up another short TD run by Morris and it was 21-6 as we went to halftime.
