The Mechanicsburg Wildcats hung on, after a late touchdown and onside kick recovery by Greencastle-Antrim, to win 28-24 in a Mid-Penn Colonial Division matchup.
After Greencastle-Antrim jumped out to an early 10-0 lead in the 2nd Quarter behind a 24-yd touchdown pass from Junior QB Andrew Kerns, Mechanicsburg’s Jeff Lougee got the Wildcats on the board with an 8-yd touchdown run.
Lougee added two touchdown passes in the 2nd half, including a 75-yarder to Sr WR Sam DeLuca.
The Blue Devils would not be counted out. With two more touchdown passes from Kerns, including one to Tavon Cooper with 24 seconds left in the game, Greencastle-Antrim recovered and onside kick at midfield with 22 seconds left. However Kerns passes fell incomplete as the Wildcats held on.
