The Susquehanna Township Indians continued their winning streak with a road victory against the East Pennsboro Panthers. This win is largely due to the Indians unstoppable ground game, which scored four out of Susquehanna’s five touchdowns.

This rivalry matchup started off with a bang with East Pennsboro’s JJ Gossard scoring the first TD of the night off of a 1-yard run in the opening drive, making the early score 7-0. This lead would not be held for long however, as the Indians would march down the field in the very next possession, and score their first rushing touchdown of the night, and tying the score at 7-7.

After that no points would be scored by either team until about three minutes left in the half. This touchdown, ultimately caused by a blocked punt that gave great field positioning would be the first of the night for RB Rakhi Seville, and the second rushing touchdown for Susquehanna. This score would also give the Indians their first lead of the night, making the score 14-7 going into halftime.

At the start of the third quarter, with Susquehanna set to receive, the Panthers defense seemed to have a different attitude on the field. They held Susquehanna to a quick fourth down and caused a punt resulting in great field positioning. However, Susquehanna would go on to recover that punt now placing them inside the 20 yard line. Following this recovery, RB Rakhi Seville would score his second rushing touchdown of the night just one play later, and the Indians now found themselves up 21-7.

The panthers were fortunately able to quickly recover, with WR Aaron Angelo tearing up the field for an 80-yard catch and run touchdown to put the Panthers back in the game. These would end up being the final points scored in the third quarter, making the score 21-14 at the start of the fourth.

The Indians would be the next team to put points on the board after a drive of nearly seven minutes, which resulted in QB Torin Evans reaching the endzone off of a 3-yard designed run on fourth down. This choice to go for it ended up paying off beautifully for the Indians, as this now put them up by two scores in the fourth quarter.

Susquehanna picked up this momentum on defense, ultimately causing a fourth and 23 for the Panthers and immediately getting the ball back. This would eventually lead to Susquehanna’s first passing TD of the night off of a 25 yard pass to senior James Colston, making the score 35-14 with just three and a half minutes remaining.

The Panthers refused to give up however, with WR Dayrell Everett scoring a 90 yard TD on the following kickoff, making the score 35-21 with almost no time being taken off the clock. The Panthers were eventually able to get the ball and score again due to a 30-yard reception from Aaron Angelo, making that his second of the night. However, there was just simply not enough time for the Panthers to catch up, making the final score 35-28 in favor of Susquehanna.

The Susquehanna Township Indians will return home next week for their matchup against the Big Spring Bulldogs, while the East Pennsboro Panthers will travel to face the 3-4 Middletown Blue Raiders.
