The Susquehanna Township Indians finished off their regular season on a high note, beating Milton Hershey 35-21 at home. Susquehanna Quarterback Torin Evans played a huge role in securing this win, running for two touchdowns and throwing two more.

The first half of this game began rather slowly, resulting in a tied game at only 7-7. Both of which came from QB runs, with Susquehanna QB Torin Evans rushing for a 50 yard touchdown, and Milton Hershey quarterback Logan Jerry sneaking in for a one yard TD shortly after.

Once the second half began however, Susquehanna really seemed to gain their footing, as early in the second half RB Rakhi Seville tore through the defense on a huge rush and later scored the next play, breaking the streak of over 20 minutes without a score change. Susquehanna would then go on to score two more unanswered touchdowns in the form of two 20-yard catches from receivers Jarrett Kern, and James Colston, with Colston’s coming immediately after an interception from corner Stephon Malette leaving the Indians in great field position.

As the fourth quarter began, Susquehanna Township found themselves leading 28-7. Milton Hershey however, was not going to give up, as RB Lex Morales-Monzon sprinted past the Susquehanna defense all the way for a 60 yard rushing touchdown, just 30 seconds into the quarter.

Unfortunately, the Spartans defense would not be able to hold on, as Susquehanna QB Torin Evans would reach the endzone for the second time that night, by rushing for a 50-yard touchdown. A last minute Spartans touchdown from WR Kah’dyn Gann-luckett would eventually make the final score 35-21 in favor of Susquehanna.

When asked about the game Coach Headen said that he thinks Susquehanna had too many self inflicted wounds throughout the game. One large example he stressed were the excessive penalties caused by the Indians which took three additional touchdowns away, and also largely contributed to every Spartans scoring drive.

While this was the last game of the regular season, the Indians have qualified for a playoff spot, and are currently sitting at 8-2 and second overall in the conference. This loss for the Spartans however, may lead to a heartbreaking end to their season, as they are now 5-5 with the fourth spot in the conference guaranteed, and find themselves questioning if they will see the postseason, despite making it the last two years.
