The fifth-seeded Twin Valley Raiders have beaten the fourth-ranked Susquehanna Township Indians 47-19 in their first game of the postseason. This win was largely credited to Twin Valleys running game, as RBs Evan Johnson, and Drew Engle combined for five rushing touchdowns. Susquehanna Township, on the other hand, struggled with similar problems from previous weeks, as they were called for more than 10 penalties, and had multiple turnovers.

Despite their loss, Susquehanna Township gained the early advantage in this matchup, as WR Lex Cyrus would score a 32-yard touchdown just three minutes into the game. However, shortly after, the Raiders would take a large early lead against the Indians that they could never quite overcome. In just the last three minutes of the 1st quarter the Raiders would score 2 rushing TDs with RBs Drew Engle, and Evan Johnson. Then, on the following kickoff of the second touchdown, Susquehanna would fumble the ball out of the back of the endzone, resulting in a safety. Finally, on the kick return following that safety, Twin Valley would burst up the field for a 60-yard kick return touchdown. These 4 consecutive scores would give the Raiders a 23-7 lead at just the end of the first quarter.

Twin Valley would continue to expand their lead in the second quarter, as RB Drew Engle would find the endzone for the second time of the night. This was shortly followed by an Indians touchdown from Zi’khere Leaks on fourth down, but a missed extra point would make the halftime score 30-13.

Now, with the Raiders leading by 20 at the start of the fourth quarter following a long field goal from kicker Nate Shaffer in the third, the Raiders still believed they didn’t do enough. In the fourth quarter, both Twin Valley running backs would reach the endzone one last time, leaving Drew Engle with three, and Evan Johnson with two. The Indians did try to overcome this deficit however, with WR Jarett Kern hauling in a great pass from Torin Evans in the endzone. Unfortunately, it was just too little too late for the Indians, as a last minute Evans interception would end the game, making the final score 47-19.

While this loss means that the Indians season is now over, the raiders will continue to face the number one ranked Lampeter Strasburg pioneers at home in the semifinals.
