YORK, PA – Undefeated West York hosted York Suburban in a rivalry game at Bulldog Stadium on Friday night.

Both teams’ opening drives were promising, but nobody was able to score. Then, when West York got the ball back, QB Issac Roberts ran it back 25 yards for a touchdown. The extra point was blocked, so it was now 6-0 with 7:23 left in the first. York Suburban’s offense was not able to make much happen, as their rushing plays were stopped as soon as they started. With 18.2 seconds left in the first quarter, Julius Madden caught a pass from Issac Roberts and ran it in 5 yards for the Bulldog’s second touchdown. They converted on the 2-point attempt, making it 14-0 at the end of the first.

The second quarter began with an interception by West York’s Jamison Hood. A few minutes later, both teams got scrappy, and multiple flags were thrown, but the penalties offset. Issac Roberts would then get his second of the game from a 10 yard rushing TD on 4th down. The PAT was blocked again, making it 20-0 with 6:35 left in the half.

Then, on a York Suburban punt around their own 10-yard line, West York blocked the punt, which sent the ball straight up, allowing Ibraheem Fuentes-Bream to catch it for a touchdown. They converted on the 2-point try again, growing the West York lead to 28. The Trojans would put some points on the board late in the half from a field goal by Jakey Royer. The first half ended 28-3.

York Suburban would find some success in the third, which started and ended with a 60-yard rushing touchdown by QB Rylan Bratton. 28-10 was the score with 10:52 left in the game. Much of the third quarter was three and out for both teams, but West York was able to score off a 30-yard TD by Jayden Welch. He kicked his own extra point, which was good, making it 35-10 at the end of the third.

Jayden Welch would be the lone scorer in the fourth from an 83-yard run to the endzone, growing their lead to 32.

At the final whistle, West York defeated York Suburban 42-10. The Bulldogs move to 4-0, while York Suburban falls to 0-4. West York hosts Kennard-Dale next week for their homecoming game, while York Suburban travels to an undefeated New Oxford on Friday Night.
