Words from the coach: “Gaje Gombert is an upcoming Junior who quietly had a stellar sophomore season. He led the team with 3 interceptions from the linebacker position. Gaje has excellent speed and an outstanding tackler. With a year of experience under his belt as well as a great offseason, we expect Gaje to have an outstanding Junior year”.

Why do you play football?
I play football because I love how physical the sport is.
It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?
I am looking forward to winning the game.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
My favorite sports star is former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley due to the fact that he set all-time Penn State records for most all-purpose career yards, most career rushing touchdowns, and most career receiving yards by a running back. I also admire how he went on to play for the Giants and continue his career professionally.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
My favorite play is when I got my first ever varsity interception
What was last years season like for you?
I’d say it was a season to learn and grow from.
What are your goals for this coming season?
My goals are to use all of the hard work I did in the offseason and translate all of that onto the field so that I can become a better player.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
The best player I’ve went up against was a guard from southern. I was a freshman and he was a senior.
What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
I would love to visit MetLife stadium
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
New York Giants
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
My favorite game that I’ve watched was the game against bloomsburg when we beat them 43-7.
What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
I’d pick Rocky 4 because of how motivational it is.
If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?
My dad would usually yell to me to watch the ball.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
I would love to have both a scoop-and-score and a pick-6 in the same game.
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
I’d say that my biggest mentor is my dad because of how much he’s helped me with my career and everything he’s done for me.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?
My most embarrassing moment was when I got pick up and carried out into the end-zone on TV.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
All of my grandparents because they’ve come to every single one of my games
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
Swimming
What is your favorite football memory to date?
My favorite football memory is when I got my interception against our rivals, bloomsburg.
What is your favorite play to run?
Any kind of blitz
