Coach says “Captain, 3-year starter, vocal and emotional leader of our team, has put on substantial muscle in the off-season, has a non-stop motor, especially on defense, very versatile player-he can play any lineman position on both sides of the ball”.
Why do you play football?
Ever since I was younger I always saw the game as an emotional and physical outlet. It helps me maintain a strong balance in my life and has helped my stay physically and emotionally strong
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
I always gravitated towards Aaron Judge. He’s a beast on the field and seems like a great guy.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
Our last play against our rivals Central Columbia last year. After a hard fought game. A Tush Push in double Overtime secured us the win.
What was last years season like for you?
It was a big growth year. I saw big improvements on and off the field. Technique, lifting, speed, and overall understanding of the game all got better as the weeks progressed.
What are your goals for this coming season?
I want to win. More than anything in the world. We made a decision as a team that losing wouldn’t be an option. Our Offseason work will pay dividends when the season comes, and I’m ready to see the benefits.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
Matt Shugatano from Mt.Carmel
What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
Taking a visit out to Columbia and watching a game would be amazing. Considering my grandfather played football there, I would want nothing more then to take him with me
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
The Steelers. I hope Russ can lead us to the playoffs this year.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
2016 Penn State v. Ohio State. It was the most exhilarating win in Penn State history.
What would you do to improve the recruiting process?
Not much. I just wish coaches would respond to my emails!
Describe what the perfect teammate is
Someone who pushes you to be a better person. Not just in Football, but in life
Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community
There’s nothing that unites a community like football. Whether it be parents supporting other kids, or the focus on beating a rival. Football brings people together.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Considering I’m a lineman, it’s safe to say I’ll never catch a touchdown pass. But that feeling has been something I’ve soared for a long time.
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
My Dad has always been my mentor. He’s taught me all the valuable lessons that I’ve needed to tackle everyday life. He stands for what I want to be.
What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?
Preseason Two a Days are:
Great. You get to see which people are there to compete, and which ones are there for the jerseys.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
I enjoy making and playing music. It gives me an avenue to express myself
What is your favorite football memory to date?
Beating Danville in the Midget football championship. We won by scoring off a trick play we out in three days before the game.
What is your favorite play to run?
Wedge. It’s hard for a nose guard to stop a whole line.
Which one? Sheetz or Wawa
Unfortunately we haven’t been blessed with any Wawa’s in Bloom, so I’m going with Sheetz
What is your favorite vacation destination?
I love the beach. Nothing like feeling the sun on your skin and hearing the water rush into the sand.
