Coach says: “Isaiah Kurtz is another player who has completely transformed his body and commitment to the game over the last year. He has added nearly 20 pounds since last season and has really dedicated himself to the weight room and overall development as a football player.
Isaiah is going to be a major piece for us at linebacker this fall. Even though he has not yet had significant varsity playing time, he is a kid our program believes strongly in because of the energy, toughness, and leadership qualities he brings every single day. He is the type of player who rallies the team, keeps everyone together, and brings positive energy to practices and games at all times.
He genuinely loves the game of football, loves competing, and has fun playing the game. Our players feed off his attitude and enthusiasm, and we expect him to have a breakout year and become a major contributor to our defense this season.
Why do you play football?
I play football because I enjoy the physical aspect of the game. I enjoy playing with my teammates, love the atmosphere, and the competitiveness it brings.

Hitting someone
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Myles Garrett. He is always doing his best and is a great defensive player and I enjoy watching him.

What was last years season like for you?
I was a backup outside linebacker and played special teams. I played on the jv team as well.
What are your goals for this coming season?
Get 100 tackles and win the district chip
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
Landon Murrary
When the game is on the line, which college/professional coach would you like to call in the play?
Bill Belichick. In high pressure situations you want someone who’s been there before with the experience.
What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
The new Highmark stadium go bills!
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
Buffalo Bills.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
Michigan at Penn state 2023. It was a very good battle with both teams.
What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
Safety. It shows how family always comes first and is the most important thing.
If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Play with the senior class again
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
I want to be like John Parker Marr. This is because he always encouraged me and wanted the best for the team. He always had everyone’s back and was a great leader.
