Coach Says: Schuyler is coming into his own this off-season.He is the hardest worker and it shows in the weight room. He is always going above and beyond what is asked of all football players in the off-season. Schuyler is a returning starter on Def and a staple of our line backer core. Very smart player and is quick to diagnose plays as they develop. We look to him to be the leader of our young defense.

Why do you play football?

I play football because I love the competitiveness of the game. But more than that, I love the process. The early mornings, the intense lifts, the sweat and grind with my teammates. Every rep and every practice builds something bigger than just Friday nights. It’s about the bond, the work, and the pride in knowing we earned it together.

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

The moment I step onto the field, everything slows down for a second then that first snap hits, and I get to impose my will on the guy across from me. That’s the part I love… that first chance to set the tone and let him know what kind of night it’s going to be

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Luke Kuechly. He is someone I model my game after because he was a true student of the game. He knew what the offense was doing before they did it, and he brought intensity every single snap.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

My freshman year, starting as a freshman against Mt. Carmel in the playoffs, I timed the snap perfectly and blew through the hole for a tackle for loss. That play still sticks with me,  it was the first time I felt like I really belonged out there.

What was last years season like for you?

Last season was disappointing. We only won three games and missed the playoffs, and that still doesn’t sit right with me. That feeling has been driving me ever since.

What are your goals for this coming season?

My goals for this season are to dominate on both sides of the ball and get us back to our winning ways. I’m locked in and ready to set the tone every week.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

Jaylen Delaney from Mount Carmel, he is a playmaker on the offensive side of the ball.

When the game is on the line, which college/professional coach would you like to call in the play?

John Gruden

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

M & T Bank Stadium

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

Baltimore Ravens

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

Notre Dame beating Penn State in the College Football Playoffs

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

Remember the Titans. You see the adversity they went through, on and off the field. Watching them fight through all of that together was honestly inspiring. It made me appreciate what a team can be when everyone buys in.

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

I usually can’t hear my mom from the stands, but if I could, I know she’d be screaming ‘LET’S GO!!’ as loud as she can. She has always been one of my biggest supporters, and it means a lot knowing she’s out there cheering for me.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Score a game winning touchdown

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

My dad is my mentor. He always gives me the best advice for me to succeed in not just sports but in academics. I want to be like him when I grow up. He works very hard to provide for our family. And after a long day at work he goes to football practice bringing energy and excited to coach all of us.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

Baseball

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

If you could only drive one car for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Mercedes G Wagon

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

Playing Madden, College Football, MLB the Show on Xbox

What is your favorite football memory to date?

Our tomato bowl win against South Williamsport last year

What is your favorite play to run?

Inside Zone, I love blocking for my RBs and QB

What scares you the most?

Music of choice:

Hip-Hop

What is the most food you ever ate in one sitting?

Four plates at the Chinese buffet

What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?

Texas Roadhouse

What is your favorite vacation destination?
